Product DescriptionThe Aztec Hot Rod Extractor makes deep cleaning your carpets extremely easy and effective! Most dirt and contamination get left behind with traditional vacuuming. The dirt and oils are often bonded to the carpet making them tough to remove. This is where the Hot Rod comes in handy and really provides you with top notch professional results. The Hot Rod's cleaning solution will heat up to 180 degrees in as quickly as eight minutes, so anyone can get amazing results in very little time. You can use just hot water but we recommend you mix in your favorite cleaning solution like the 303 Fabric & Vinyl Cleaner for added cleaning power. The Hot Rod Extractor penetrates through all kinds of contaminants releasing caked on dirt and stains that you previously thought were permanent. The 16ft vacuum and spray hose will suck up the released contamination leaving your carpets looking and smelling as new as when you brought your car home! Speaking of your home, the Hot Rod Extractor is great for spot treating any spills or stains you may have throughout the house! Plus this machine is compact and weighs only 18 pounds which allows for easy transportation and storage. Professional Detailer Reviews
It's a very straight forward machine with few moving parts and is easy to use. I can say I am happy I invested my money in the AHR. It's easily paid for itself and more. As my business continues to grow at Detailed Designs Auto Spa, Inc. I know we will continue to put it to good use. If you're in the market for a hot water extractor, I suggest you give strong consideration to this little beast!

What I like is that it does the job as stated, it is compact, portable and easy to use, it heats up water quickly and it has a nice long power cord. This could be just my machine in particular, but I ran into some design and packaging issues that can mostly be overcome by the customer, but shouldn't have to be. To start, the machine comes with a packet of 12x #6-32 1/2" machine screws to bolt the wheels on, it needs #8-32 1/2" machine screws. I bought an eight-pack of screws and put four on the front wheel and two diagonal on each rear and that sufficed. The vacuum hose and water injection hose are held together with zip ties that are clipped off and need to be filed down further or else you wind up with some pretty nasty small cuts all over. The bottom cover is loose and needs to be tightened down, however it still bows out in the center and is susceptible to dust and debris getting into the guts, I'll think about a better way to resolve this later. The one issue that can't be resolved by the customer is that you have to fill the reservoir completely up with water to get it to boil (per the instructions) and be prepared to inject lots of water into a bucket at first until you get the right temperature of water coming out before you start using it on fabric, otherwise you are injecting cold water. If you are doing a small job and don't use the machine a lot, then it's a waste of water since you need to dump it at the end of each day. I would use this primarily for cleaning of deep set-in stains (i.e. week old dog yack) and then follow-up with a steamer like the VX 5000 to eliminate the crud that wicks up to the surface, a draw-back in general for extractors.
