Would they buy this item again? No
It's a great dual action. Plenty of power and don't have to many issues with it stalling. But the little things are what count when buying a polisher. And two biggest areas where this machine fails is build quality and ease of use.

In terms of build quality: If you own one of these, never set it next to a 3401 or 21 Mark II. Yes, I realize those are $90 more expensive. But the fit and finish of the European machines is evident immediately. The machining and casting of the 22D is sloppy and the main shaft bearing into housing has visual play in it already, only a matter of time before it start oozing grease when running hard.

To the tune of ease of use: the controls on this thing sound good in theory. But they suck. There is an on/off switch and a digital stepper control to adjust the speed. The fault with this system is you cannot set the speed like with the rotary dials of it European counterparts. You have to turn on the power switch, then manually walk the machine up to speed you want with the the stepper controls. SIX BUTTON PUSHES to get to max power! You have to do this every time you finish a pass to stop and clean pads or add more product. That is ridiculous. The proper way to do this would be to feed a hot lead to the stepper control and not resetting to zero whenever the on/off switch is flipped.

If you are a hobbyist, it will last you until the next latest and greatest tool catches your eye. If you are anything close to professionally detailing, pony up the extra pesos and grab either Euro brand or the Griot's.
