DI Packages Porter Cable 7424XP 6.5" Basic Kit

I purchased this PC upon recommendation from a respected detailer on a forum. He details very high end rides with this buffer, and recommended I get the kit since it came with a nice LC pad and the backing plate to use the LC style pads. This was my first buffer that I've ever used, and I used it on a brand new Honda. I felt that I was taking a little bit of a risk because I had heard horror stories about people that don't know what they're doing with buffers (paint burning, buffing off clear etc.) but after tons of research online (search YouTube) I was confident that I would be able to use this tool without screwing anything up. And I was right.

The buffer itself is very well made, and after a few panels you learn how to properly hold it and how to avoid having it skip around. Steady pressure, angle and movement will pretty much do it.

I used the PC with the white LC pad and Meguires 205 to remove light swirls on my paint and was very pleased at the swirl free and smooth finish the combination left me with. I followed up with the blue LC pad and Black Fire Wet Diamond and man was I happy at how glossy and 'wet' looking the paint was afterwards.

I'd highly recommend this buffer and this kit to anyone looking to get into detailing. It's perfect for the novice looking to remove swirling, marring or hazing on the paint without running the risk of ruining the paint. I can't wait until the next time I get to detail a car -- this thing was a blast to use!

The PC is great! I've never actually buffed my car(s) before and wanted to do it on my own and save some $$$ in the long run. Just finished buffing my bimmer this past weekend and boy it looks great. I got all those pesky waterspots out of my car using the PC and a few other products from here.
