When it comes to correcting deep paint imperfections such as heavy swirls and deep scratches, the 4 Inch Purple Foamed Wool Pad is the choice of many high end detailers. This pad should only be used with compounds and medium cutting polishes as it is very aggressive and will cut through your clear coat more than any other pad we offer. One of the major benefits of using wool pads for aggressive polishing is significantly less heat is generated, which minimizes the risk of burning your paint. Wool pads are also easier to control than foam pads. The Purple Foamed Wool Pads often finish surprisingly well, but we always recommend following up with a finer pad and polish combination for optimal results.

Benefits of Smaller Pads:

On a random orbital buffer, such as the Porter Cable 7424:

• Provides more bite than larger pads, in order to break polishes down further and remove more imperfections
• Ability to maneuver the buffer in tigher areas and closer to edges and trim
• Increased control with the buffer

On a rotary buffer, such as the Metabo PE 12-175:

• Provides less bite than larger pads, which makes using a rotary buffer less risky
• Easier to finish down the paint without rotary holograms, micro-marring, and other imperfections
• Ability to maneuver the buffer in tigher areas and closer to edges and trim
• Increased control with the buffer
