Even though this backing plate is referred to as the 3" it actually measures 2.87". So the backing plate comes very close to the edge of the pad for proper support but provides enough room to use it safely in tight spaces. This backing plate is perfect with any 3" hook and loop pad and of course the 3" Lake Country Pads. These small pads and backing plate are very important for tight spaces like spoilers, trim, front bumper, grills, air intakes, side mirrors, pillars, door jambs, etc. Properly polishing these areas shows a superior level of attention to details and helps complete the perfect detail. Simply screw the backing plate in and attach your favorite pad and you are ready to go. The hook and loop backing allows you to easily remove and attach virtually any 3 inch pad.Benefits of Using Smaller Pads
