Getting professional results is now possible for anyone with the Flex XC 3401 VRG. This new buffer was engineered in Germany by Flex to revolutionize the detailing industry. Previously you only had two choices which were orbital buffers and rotary buffers. Orbital buffers generally have limited power but are totally safe. Rotary buffers are very powerful but also dangerous unless you have lots of experience with them. The Flex XC 3401 VRG has changed that by developing a hybrid buffer that has a forced orbital rotation. This buffer still moves in an oscillating motion but has far more power to remove deep imperfections from your clear coat. One of the leading orbital buffers (Porter Cable 7424) has 6,000 OPMs (Oscillations Per Minute), while the Flex has 60% more power with 9,600 OPMs. This increased power allows you to safely remove deeper imperfections. You can now get a near flawless finish with a tool that won’t burn through your clear coat like rotary buffers can. Take your detailing to the next level with the Flex XC 3401 VRG. To learn more about the Flex buffer and the pads we have selected please read our Flex XC 3401 VRG blog post.

The Flex XC 3401 VRG has quickly become the favorite tool of many high end detailers for a variety of reasons. This buffer’s design has the perfect balance of power to remove deep imperfections, yet not too strong so burning the paint is problematic. It operates at 3200 – 9600 OPMs (Oscillations Per Minute), compared to the Porter Cable 7424 which has a maximum of 6000 OPMs. This means you get 60% more power from the Flex buffer for significantly increased polishing power. The Flex buffer weighs less than 6lbs and comes with a 5.5” hook and loop backing plate that works great with the pads in this package. It has a speed dial from 1 – 6 that lets you control the OPMs. It also has a variable speed trigger that allows you to further control the speed. Lightly hold the trigger for low speeds and hold it down all the way to operate at the maximum speed you have the dial set to. Best of all you can lock it in at any speed by simply pushing in the locking button. It has two places designed for your hands which are directly above and below the spindle so you can evenly apply pressure.

Each pad included in this package will help you get the most from your buffer and detailing products. The Yellow Cutting Pad helps restore neglected paint or spot treat deeper imperfections. This pad should only really be used as needed for serious paint imperfections. The Orange Light Cutting Pad is great for vehicles that have not been recently polished with light to medium imperfections. Most people will probably start with this pad when polishing vehicles that have average or moderate swirls and imperfections. The White Polishing Pad is perfect for removing very light imperfections and leaving the paint very smooth. This pad should be used with a light polish to remove any haze left when polishing with the orange and yellow pads. Use the Black Finishing Pad to apply a light polish or glaze. Apply your favorite sealant or wax with the Blue Fine Finishing Pad. This pad is very soft and will help evenly spread any liquid wax or sealant. We have multiple pads for each type of pad because we recommend you use 1 or more pads during each detail. Using multiple fresh pads will help you better work in polishes and preserve the life of the pad. When pads become saturated with excess product your detailing results will often diminish as well. When you’re all done using the pads simply mix one packet of Snappy Clean pad cleaning solution with water and the pads to clean the pads for future uses.

If you are ready to really make your paint look show car worthy, than this buffer is the perfect tool to help you get there. To learn more about using this buffer please read our Detailing Guide and view our Flex video on the Flex product page. This section has lots of supplemental information and step by step guides. To help maximize your detailing results with this buffer we recommend you use our Polish and Protection Kits. The products in these kits will produce outstanding results when used with the Flex buffer and pad combinations we provided.
