    I have a 1996 black Corvette with several deeper ( not thru the clear )scratches, that I just cannot get removed to my satisfaction. Could the advice above also be applied to any of the C4 era of Corvettes?

    I’m not sure of the hardness of the clear.

    Thanks;

    Dave

    • Dave,

      Yes, the same advice can be applied to your C4 era Vette. They both use hard clear coats!

      If you have some deeper imperfections to deal with however, you may find the need to get very aggressive using a wool cutting pad and a heavy compound like Meguiars M105 or Menzerna Power Gloss in those areas.

      Just be very cautious if you’re new to the rotary and wish to chase heavy defects. Keep the machine moving, continuously check your work, and be very cautious around edges and seams.

      Thanks,
      Todd
