Investing In Media Gear - A Few Arguments Can Be Made For It

I do not want you to read this content feeling intimidated by my resources.  Despite all of the gear that I own, I can easily say I could have gotten more out of my camera phone in the past.  I also could have invested more resources that could assist the performance of my phone.  With that stated, all of my camera, lighting, audio, and other media investments have been worthwhile.  I believe they are worthwhile for you when the timing is appropriate.

Cameras

There is value in the flexibility of not depending on a phone, when we use are phones for a variety of professional and non professional tasks.  Real versus perceived recording quality often reveals itself when content is expanded.  My cameras which are producing better looking videos, are also allowing me to take photo frames crop images without significant loss of quality.  It also gives some flexibility with vertical content.

Part of my motivation came from doing some detailing out of city parking garage over 8 years ago.  Poor lighting in that location and some clients’ garages were an issue.  I also wanted to blur out the garage area.  Popular detailers on YouTube were also an inspiration to me.

Video Editing

I believe this is not discussed enough.  There is an element of convenience and versatility with learning and investing in a professional video editing software.  But there is another concern.  I truly believe a number of the issues involving individuals hacking into Facebook profiles are in part due to the free software aps, which involve using Facebook passwords for access.  Many of these aps are not vetted for security issues.
