Product Review: Sonax Leather Care

How do you test a product from a company like Sonax that you know will be great?  You push the limits.

You don’t see how it works on a brand-new Ferrari that has been sat in twice. You test it on 20-year-old Miata whose seats are glossier than the paint. However, after Sonax and a brush, “New seats, who dis?”.

First let’s talk about the name “Leather Cleaner Foam“, just a few passes of a brush and the leather was getting nice and sudsy. The foaming action really helps to get into those cracks, perforations, and stitching. Of course, it does a good job of removing contamination, because Sonax, but what I was really impressed with was the ease of removal. Some leather cleaners dry too quickly or “push around” that make the cleaning/removal a bit more difficult. However, I could spray the entire seat, lather it and it all wiped off with ease.

Some side by side action:

So now what? You protect and nourish this clean supple leather. But you don’t want a weird smell, or worse, a “leather scent”. You don’t want it to be glossy and you don’t want it to be hard to remove. Oh wait, Sonax solved that too. Their Leather Care Cream is very nice to use, and I am not a fan most others. There is no scent, really, and the removal is extremely easy even with extended time after application. Finish is nice and matte and it spreads very smooth and evenly. It does spread the best when applied as a smile face though, just something to keep in mind.

So overall, Sonax has done it again. Made an amazing product that stands up to what they put out with the rest of their line. You would not be disappointed with this combo.
