Consumers (professional and enthusiasts alike) have, unfortunately, learned over time that few products claiming to be a \u201cone-stop-shop\u201d are seldomly that.\u00a0 What they typically find is some sort of \u201cjack-of-all-trades-and-master-of-none\u201d money magnet that ends up collecting dust in the dark or on the front row of the next garage sale for a quarter\u2026priced to move!<\/p>\n

Optimum Poli-Seal <\/a>is not that kind of product.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

When a consumer reads the description above, two thoughts will come to mind: \u201cHallelujah! Where\u2019s my credit card and a phone?\u201d\u00a0 OR\u00a0 \u201cYeah right\u2026What are they going to sell me next?\u201d\u00a0 Well, Mr. and Mrs. Consumer\u2026you better find your credit card, because you have an order to place.<\/p>\n

So let\u2019s look at its claims one at a time.\u00a0 Because while this “bang-for-the-buck-time-saver” won\u2019t replace intensive-multi-step finishes, we must acknowledge that it never claims to do so.\u00a0 However, the claims that it does make are achieved with merit.<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 \u00a0This zero dusting, buttery-smooth formula is the ultimate, one-step product.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Most users of this product are looking to maximize time, energy, and efficiency.\u00a0 While there are other 1-step products available, none are zero dusting other than Optimum Poli-Seal<\/a>.\u00a0 And let\u2019s face it, when time is key, you don\u2019t want to have to go back and blow dust out of crevices, rewash, or have to clean up a Sweedish Chef<\/em> looking work area.<\/p>\n

As for buttery smooth?\u00a0 You bet.\u00a0 It easily squeezes out of its container and can be spread with your finger.\u00a0 It even has a mild scent unlike many polishes and compounds out there.\u00a0 Whether priming the pad or spreading it over a panel before cranking up the speed, you will think you are working with a wax or a sealant…but you\u2019re not.\u00a0 You are working with a double agent! An agent that is not just looking to protect, but correct as well.\u00a0 Optimum Poli-Seal<\/a> is not a filling agent. It has some excellent correcting abilities with minimal effort.\u00a0 What you see is what you get…even after IPA wipedowns!<\/p>\n

2. <\/strong><\/em>Optimum Poli-Seal<\/strong><\/em><\/a>\u2122<\/sup> contains micro abrasives that eliminate (not hide) minor surface imperfections.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Like anybody, this is what I was skeptical about when I first got this product.\u00a0 How can a product that is so smooth live up to claims of eliminating swirls, leave a clear-haze-free-glossy finish, WITH protection?\u00a0 So I decided to try it on two different vehicles with two of the colors that show swirls (in my opinion) worse than the rest: Red and Black.<\/p>\n

First up was a Honda CR-V. <\/em>This poor vehicle had 75k miles and was ready to be resold.\u00a0 I decided to try\u00a0bringing it back to life\u00a0using\u00a0\u00a0Optimum Poli-Seal<\/a> with an Orange Lake Country Pad<\/a> (Light Cut). I used a PC on speed 6 and began by priming the pad. I then worked each area making several passes in a cross-hatch pattern for about 1-2 minutes (even though you can work it longer, I often find you don’t need to).<\/p>\n

After seeing the success with the Honda (which had never been polished but wasn’t horrible), I thought, “But what about on cars that have truly been neglected? Ones that live in the local Scratch and Swirl<\/em> and have never, ever, seen a pea-sized drop of polish? What about BLACK!?” I had the perfect car: A 100k mile (plus)\u00a0Saab 9-3, black, scratch and swirled, and never polished!<\/em><\/p>\n

For this car I decided to not only test Optimum Poli-Seal’s <\/a>ability to remove swirls and leave a high gloss finish, but also its finishing abilities. Because we all know black has no mercy for a polish job left unfinished, I decided to test 4 different pads– all with varying degree of cut– to find the best finish in only 1 Step<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Here is what the hood looked like before I started (with my sections taped and their respective pads ready to polish). The pads are as follows (left to right): Lake Country Orange<\/a>, Lake Country White<\/a>, <\/a>Lak<\/a>e Country Green Very Light, and Lake Country Tangerine Hydro Tech<\/a>. They are all 6.5inch pads.

No, this is what the paint really looked like (those fluorescent lights made it look like I was laready done)

I began by priming my pad<\/p>\n

Then, I applied 4 pea-sized dots of Optimum Poli-Seal<\/a> to the pad.<\/p>\n

I worked it in making several passes in a cross-hatch pattern with medium pressure the whole time.\u00a0 I ended up with a hood that was kinda scary and cool looking at the same time.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0A single application provides “optimum” protection for your vehicle that lasts for months!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Of all its claims, this is the only one I haven’t had the chance to test yet.\u00a0 I haven’t had the product for months, let alone the cars you saw above.\u00a0 However, what I can say is that the finish left by Optimum Poli-Seal<\/a> is one of the slickest finishes I have felt and it has a high gloss finish as you saw.\u00a0 It ranks up there with many of the top level waxes or sealants.\u00a0 To be honest, since it doesn’t take much longer, I have come to prefer topping Optimum Poli-Seal<\/a> with Optimum Opti-Seal <\/a>to ensure long-lasting protection.\u00a0I guess you can say I use this combo as a 1.5 Step<\/em>.\u00a0 Though I don’t have pictures, I did witness rain drops on the Saab a week later.\u00a0 They were uniform and tight.<\/p>\n

So what’s the verdict?\u00a0 Well, if you’ve managed to make it this far without opening a new browser to order it yet, it’s time to move.\u00a0 This is one All-in-One that won’t be creating or collecting dust once it reaches your doorstep. Operators are standing by. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
