This rally tuned daily driver was in need of a mild refresh to get the soft, finicky paintwork back looking its best.<\/p>\n<p>The paint was riddled with swirl marks and some heavy scratches located around a few bird dropping stains. The client asked that we make an improvement to the paint without making a large investment in time. This was the perfect job for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.detailedimage.com\/Rupes-M62\/UNO-Protect-One-Step-Polish-Sealant-P2080\/1000-ml-S1\/\">Rupes UNO Protect<\/a>. This AIO (All in One Polish) has mild abrasives and a sealant built in. It can seriously improve gloss and slickness while making a sizable dent in defect removal. \u00a0Remember, the softer the clear coat the greater improvement a mild polish like an AIO can make.<\/p>\n<p>This detail was all about making the biggest impact to the exterior surfaces in a reasonable amount of time. Not everyone can sink 3-4 days into correcting their car. The wheels were cleaned with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.detailedimage.com\/Sonax-M49\/Wheel-Cleaner-Plus-P939\/500-ml-S1\/\">Sonax Wheel Cleaner Plus<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.detailedimage.com\/Sonax-M49\/MultiStar-All-Purpose-Cleaner-P1037\/750-ml-S1\/\">Sonax Multi-Star APC<\/a> and a combination of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.detailedimage.com\/DI-Brushes-M51\/E-Z-Detail-Brush-P273\/Full-Size-S1\/\">EZ Detail Brush<\/a> and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.detailedimage.com\/DI-Brushes-M51\/Boars-Hair-Detailing-Brush-P565\/125-S2\/\">Boars Hair Brush<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-31693\" src=\"https:\/\/www.detailedimage.com\/Ask-a-Pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Cosentino-20200520-_H736329.jpg\" alt=\"subaru wrx detail \" width=\"990\" height=\"660\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.detailedimage.com\/Ask-a-Pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Cosentino-20200520-_H736329.jpg 900w, https:\/\/www.detailedimage.com\/Ask-a-Pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Cosentino-20200520-_H736329-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.detailedimage.com\/Ask-a-Pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Cosentino-20200520-_H736329-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 990px) 100vw, 990px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I then gave the body a pre-wash foam treatment courtesy of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.detailedimage.com\/Gyeon-M91\/Foam-P1424\/1000-ml-S1\/\">Gyeon Foam<\/a> shampoo. This starts to breakdown the dirt on the surface making a friction wash safer.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-31696\" src=\"https:\/\/www.detailedimage.com\/Ask-a-Pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Cosentino-20200520-_H736483-Edit.jpg\" alt=\"subaru wrx detail \" width=\"990\" height=\"551\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After a tradition wash, I clayed the paint with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.detailedimage.com\/Clay-Magic-M3\/Fine-Grade-Clay-Bar-P41\/200-g-S1\/\">Clay Magic Fine Grade Clay Bar<\/a>. The contamination coming off was intense. This combination gave UNO a lot of extra cutting power to remove some defects typically only addressed during a full paint correction detail. \u00a0Remember, you don&#8217;t always need to switch your polish out in order to get more cut or a higher percentage of defect removal. As I moved from panel to panel I always kept the pad clean by continually blowing it out. During this step I took my favorite <a href=\"https:\/\/www.detailedimage.com\/DI-Accessories-M12\/Foam-Cleaning-Swabs-P1527\/Rectangle-50x-S1\/\">foam detailing swabs<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.detailedimage.com\/Stoner-M20\/Tarminator-P127\/14-oz-S1\/\">Stoners Tarmintaor<\/a> and went through all the body seams and intricate\u00a0areas. This removes additional embedded dirt and any polishing residue that might have forced its way in.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-31739\" src=\"https:\/\/www.detailedimage.com\/Ask-a-Pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Cosentino-20200522-_H737310.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"990\" height=\"660\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.detailedimage.com\/Ask-a-Pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Cosentino-20200522-_H737310.jpg 900w, https:\/\/www.detailedimage.com\/Ask-a-Pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Cosentino-20200522-_H737310-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.detailedimage.com\/Ask-a-Pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Cosentino-20200522-_H737310-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 990px) 100vw, 990px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And now the fun part. Once the paint had been polished, I grabbed one of my favorite waxes, Swissvax\u00ae Endurance. This PTFE infused wax can last up to 8-12 months on the paint if properly maintained along the way. It is a wax made specifically for daily driven vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>I applied 2 coats, allowing the wax to sit on the paint for 2 hours before wipe off. I always like to remove wax with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.detailedimage.com\/The-Rag-Company-M99\/Edgeless-300-Microfiber-Towel-Yellow-P1672\/16-x-16-S1\/\">Rag Company Edgeless 300 microfiber towel<\/a> and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.detailedimage.com\/Scangrip-M81\/Sunmatch-3-P1887\/\">Scangrip SunMatch light<\/a> to illuminate any left over wax.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-31742\" src=\"https:\/\/www.detailedimage.com\/Ask-a-Pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Cosentino-20200522-_H737327.jpg\" alt=\"WRX Detail\" width=\"990\" height=\"660\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.detailedimage.com\/Ask-a-Pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Cosentino-20200522-_H737327.jpg 900w, https:\/\/www.detailedimage.com\/Ask-a-Pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Cosentino-20200522-_H737327-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.detailedimage.com\/Ask-a-Pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Cosentino-20200522-_H737327-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 990px) 100vw, 990px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The wheels received a few coats of Swissvax\u00ae Autobahn wheel wax.
