\"Jescar<\/p>\n

Jescar Heavy Cut Compound<\/a> is marketed as a quality aggressive cutting compound.\u00a0 In full transparency this article is going to be focused on non traditional uses of a polishing compound.\u00a0 This is in part due to my belief the product stands out more with unconventional use than in traditional machine paint polishing.<\/p>\n

To be fair, I have not tested this compound with a force rotation (ex Flex 3401) or a Rotary.\u00a0 It is very possible this can be an outstanding product paired with those polishers.<\/p>\n

\"Jescar<\/p>\n

When you look at the consistency, this compound has ‘old school’ traditional gritty feel to it.\u00a0 But it also carries the promise that it performs like a more modern compound, with respect to finishing down respectfully.\u00a0 I will go into detail my experience using this product and incorporating it into my detailing arsenal for a little over a year.<\/p>\n

Drawbacks<\/h2>\n

It will gum up pads much quicker.\u00a0 This means the used up product (along with abraded paint) gets trapped in the fibers at an accelerated rate, making the polishing pad less effective sooner.\u00a0 From my experience, (technique wise) it is not quite as user friendly if you do not have solid polishing technique<\/p>\n

Finishing down to an appropriate 2nd step for optimal refinement, I question this somewhat.\u00a0 I question whether I will need versus prefer to add a 3rd step of refinement for an aggressive but not dramatically aggressive refinement step.\u00a0 With respect to regular machine polishing, I think it is a solid product for production work with aggressive two step polishing.\u00a0 I also found, depending on the pad or paint, other very aggressive compounds that I prefer.<\/p>\n

Concerns<\/h2>\n

Consistency of performance will come down to having some skills polishing.\u00a0 Although you merely need to have some patience polishing for product breakdown and the discipline to keep your working area reasonable.\u00a0 This is not necessarily a critique of the product, but an understanding that many consumers are not going to be as meticulous using a product like I may be.\u00a0 Although it is not an uber aggressive product, I do not recommend this for beginners.<\/p>\n

Positives<\/h2>\n

By hand, I found this product to cut (perform) with the aggression, I could not with many other compounds.<\/p>\n

\"Jescar\"Jescar<\/p>\n

In a 3 step hand polishing system, this can really help get the job done.\u00a0 Whether polishing fingernail scratches behind door handles or chasing an isolated deep scratch, I prefer Jescar Heavy Cut Compound.\u00a0 Starting with a microfiber applicator, following with a less aggressive compound, and finishing with a fine polish a foam applicator; in 20 second 3 step sessions is a solid process for inside door handle nail scratches.<\/p>\n

\"Headlight<\/p>\n

I can see some benefits with hard paints, though again I prefer other compounds. This compound also works great with headlights.<\/p>\n
