Best Time To Do The Unpopular"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When is the best time to raise your prices?\u00a0 If I know nothing else about you, nothing about your business, or who you focus on, I will go on with this.\u00a0 The best time to raise prices is when things are not going well.\u00a0 The opposite of what the general population, non-serious (I said it) business owners, and your anxiety is communicating!\u00a0 When the phone rings less, the price shoppers increase, and your prices are mocked publicly, it is the best time to raise your price.\u00a0 First you aren&#8217;t booking anyway.\u00a0 From experience, often making deals (even free) services are not appreciated by the wrong crowd.\u00a0 As I explain my rationale, think about what I mean by wrong and right crowd.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-31062\" src=\"https:\/\/www.detailedimage.com\/Ask-a-Pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/20150820_144022_wm.jpg\" alt=\"Blue-Prius-Detailed\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.detailedimage.com\/Ask-a-Pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/20150820_144022_wm.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.detailedimage.com\/Ask-a-Pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/20150820_144022_wm-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.detailedimage.com\/Ask-a-Pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/20150820_144022_wm-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Who Are These Customers You Are Afraid To Offend<\/h2>\n<p>Take a second and look at some of the more popular YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram channels of popular premium shops, who are open with how much they charge.\u00a0 Read the comments.\u00a0 Now spend a good day, thinking about that.\u00a0 Seriously!\u00a0 Would you go to a stranger&#8217;s place of work and tell his employer he is making too much money, and you know a guy who would do it cheaper.\u00a0 Most people would never do this under any circumstance, let alone without any understanding of their job description beyond a title.\u00a0 Seriously again, take a day to really get how these people you are begging for acceptance see you.\u00a0 If you fail, I personally rather work at McDonald&#8217;s, versus carrying the weight of a business agreeing with customers who treat me like an entry level McDonald&#8217;s employee.<\/p>\n<h2>The People That You Say Don&#8217;t Exist Privately Don&#8217;t Take You Seriously<\/h2>\n<p>Be honest with yourself.\u00a0 When we set prices, it is initially the lowest level of compensation we are willing to accept.\u00a0 No matter how much we think about the numbers, which many don&#8217;t, we are never prepared for how much (non detailing) time and expense goes into running a business.\u00a0 People that are into what we do, often know how business and money works.\u00a0 If the price is reasonable to the mainstream, then they are going to view the quality and overall reputability of your operation as suspect.\u00a0 The people that you say don&#8217;t exist are scared by your cheap prices and the following may bring clarity to this.\u00a0 They won&#8217;t tell you this, but many have booked with me because another detailer&#8217;s cheap price scared them away.<\/p>\n<h2>Kinder To Your Target Clients And Business Then Even Yourself.<\/h2>\n<p>It took me a while to realize this as I caught myself getting sucked into the reasonable price trap.\u00a0 Being expensive is unselfish and it makes you an exponentially better business owner.\u00a0 I am going to ask you a rhetorical question.\u00a0 You have the option of someone pushing a shopping cart in a grease-stained shirt, that says he will detail your dream car for $10.\u00a0 You would just run into your car and speed off.\u00a0 There is a crude reality in my exaggeration.\u00a0 At a micro level you are becoming this person.\u00a0 Detailing is a luxury service, whether anyone wants to admit that or not.\u00a0 And luxury cost goes both ways.\u00a0 When you are being paid accordingly, there is less urgency to rush into mistakes.\u00a0 When margins are not a life death for survival, you are much less hesitant to invest in yourself skill wise.\u00a0 You, like your clients with disposable income, read and research what coatings REALLY ARE THE BEST.\u00a0 This is why in some cases, I do not see consumers who claim to be ripped off as victims for being cheap.\u00a0 We are consumers of goods and services too.\u00a0 Typically, if I make a bad decision, I hold myself responsible.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Business Owners &#8211;
