I have been using Liquid Elements<\/a> Polisher (T4000), with the 5-inch backing plate, for several months.\u00a0 Currently Detailed Image has the (newer) T4200<\/a> in stock now instead of the T4000 as the Liquid Elements entry level polisher option.\u00a0 The Liquid Elements T4500<\/a> Pro polisher is their professional option.\u00a0 I recently acquired the T4500 Pro and plan on doing a more comprehensive assessment of most of the new polishers, polishes, and pads in their lineup.\u00a0 Some of that testing has already started.\u00a0 With that said my initial assessment may be helpful for you considering the newer T4200 polisher.\u00a0 It may also give you confidence to make a larger investment in their professional line.<\/p>\n

Overall\u00a0Summary<\/h2>\n

I had low expectations with this polisher.\u00a0 I was pleasantly surprised, quickly with this tool.\u00a0 It is no secret that those that follow me know, I use the Rupes<\/a> DA long-throw polishers regularly.\u00a0 I wanted to access this tool based on those polishers and my first polisher (Porter Cable<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Cost<\/h2>\n

This is hard to ignore.\u00a0 The quality of tool at this price point is outstanding.\u00a0 I will get into the performance aspect of the polisher shortly.\u00a0 But my first polisher was the Porter Cable.\u00a0 A solid and versatile tool, that can get the job done.\u00a0 If you were limited on budget and not sure how far you would take your desire to polish cars, I would potentially recommend the Porter Cable.\u00a0 I cannot as easily do that for an entry level polisher.\u00a0 At the current price point of $260 for the T4200, I would recommend spending more on the Liquid Elements polisher.<\/p>\n

Correction<\/h2>\n

I found it on par and perhaps at times better than my Rupes Mark II polisher.\u00a0 With a caveat (i.e. not stalling) of being more user friendly than my Mark 1 and Mark II Rupes polishers.<\/p>\n

Refinement<\/h2>\n

Incomplete, for now!\u00a0 I think the Liquid Elements polisher is outstanding on its own in correcting and refinement.\u00a0 But it is not discussed enough, this is what makes Rupes polishers stand out from most polishers.\u00a0 Being forced to guess at best and even split even with the Rupes.\u00a0 But if in doubt, I will lean on Rupes for the time being.<\/p>\n

Vibration<\/h2>\n

The T4000 is an improvement over the entry level Porter Cable but not quite as steady as the Rupes Mark II models from my experience.\u00a0 This is not bad.\u00a0 From my very limited experience with the Pro (T4500) and conversations with their representatives, this is one of the areas where the professional version distinguishes itself.<\/p>\n

Durability and customer support is where an incomplete score is being given.\u00a0 I do not have enough time, information, and experience with the product line to provide a good comparison.<\/p>\n

Nice Touches<\/h2>\n

It comes with a nice bag.\u00a0 The flashing red to green light that symbolizes the lever locking is a nice touch.\u00a0 Putting the polisher in a position to lock in position is slightly more intuitive than at least the EARLIER models of the Rupes Polishers.<\/p>\n

For those that want to see a sample of the results in this video the time frame is from 17:42 to 20:41.\u00a0 A good percentage of the heavy lifting was done with this polisher.<\/p>\n

In this video, you will find a 10 year old GM with black paint.\u00a0 My most used (2 step) combination was Sonax Ultimate Cut<\/a> with a Lake Country Microfiber Cutting Pad<\/a> and Sonax Perfect Finish<\/a> with the Orange Lake Country HDO CCS Pad<\/a>.\u00a0 I went with an aggressive first step combination 1 and sometimes 2 times before jeweling the paint with Sonax Perfect Finish.<\/p>\n
