Not only does he lead product formulation and testing of Gtechniq products, but he also conducts seminars at industry events. We talked about the recently released one-year ceramic coating, Gtechniq GT1. Interview below:<\/p>\n<p>Durability rating also does not speak to the quality of protection a product has. Some would argue, why not use an alleged sprayable version instead of a one-year coating? Why not use Exo5, (a somewhat more relevant argument)? Exo5, it is my understanding, that its attributes are best served to compliment a base layer ceramic coating. Protection is not just about beading and it is also not just about what you put on the car. I believe the hidden value is someone willing to embrace a slightly more challenging alternative to a spray wax, for a short term legitimate ceramic coating experience. I cannot tell you how many times people have boosted that they ceramic coated their cars because a spray wax has the word ceramic and it beads for a couple of weeks. A properly prepped surface with a wax or sealant could do that, often better, many years ago. This product allows an entry into the world of a real coating, with a easier than most process. Part of that includes those that may want to polish more afterwards for whatever reason. People do not think about the difficulty of removing professional coatings with respect to reapplication or high spot issues. Having the word Ceramic, or just enough of a common ingredient in a product for plausible deniability, does not make it a ceramic coating product. A real ceramic coating is generally stored in a small glass container. A lighter version, that is sprayable can be found in a metal container.
