A lot of us have grown to love the Nanoskin Autoscrub system<\/a>. It is a time saver when decontaminating the paint. In my article on the Nanoskin Foam Pads\u00a0<\/a>I discussed the benefits of the system, and how to properly use them.<\/p>\n

I love the pads for vans and larger vehicles, but for smaller cars I found myself always using the pads by hand. Why by hand?! For me, I like to be able to feel and hear the contamination on the paint. Sound is a big thing, the tone of the pad being moved across the surface changes when the contaminates are removed, when using a polisher this isn’t something you can hear over the machine.<\/p>\n

Because of the above reasons, my new go to is the Nanoskin Wash Mitt<\/a>. I am able to use my hand inside the mitt to better feel and hear contamination being removed. My procedure for using the wash mitt is to start with a standard 2 bucket wash method<\/a>. I like to remove any particles that may be on the surface. Although, it can be used without the wash, I err on the side of safety. After my wash, I will fill up a new bucket with my CG Citrus Wash and Clear<\/a>, and dip my Mitt. I will then gently go over the surface in small back and forth motions, decontaminating a panel at a time. After each panel, the mitt is rinsed the the bucket. This allows more soap to be used ensuring there is not marring to the surface.<\/p>\n

Be very gentle on hard body lines and edges. Too much pressure and the polymer on the Mitt can transfer to the painted surface. \u00a0Also, don’t use any of the Nanoskin<\/a> products around solvents like Tarminator<\/a>, these products will cause the polymer on the Mitt to “melt” or soften them to the point that the Mitt could be useless.<\/p>\n
