This product works well on a non coated surface. I use this on my company vehicle which only gets driven through a brushed car wash because my employer pays for this service. I then apply this to my vehicle which is partially black and it not only covers the scratches, but adds a great shine. The hydrophobic properties are very good and truly the only protection that my company car receives. Seems to last even after the very harsh brushed car wash but I re apply after a weekly wash process. Makes my turd of a car look great and protects it for a bargain basement price
