At Jescar, we’re obsessed with creating better compounds and polishes. Maybe an unhealthy obsession… So, of course when we saw the need for a compound that cuts heavy defects faster and with more aggression, we thought, “why not make a compound that cuts like a chainsaw, but smoother?”
That’s where the Glanzmax project began; a simple goal: remove the worst swirls, sanding marks, and paint defects with the absolute fastest method possible without leaving the detailer in a half-gallon of sweat.
Well, that “simple goal” turned into two years of testing, intermediary tweaks, countless rejecting, discussing, polishing, and crying (okay, one of us cried), and ultimately starting over. We tested it on every paint known to mankind (ok, that may be an exaggeration) from butter soft, black paint to rock-hard Euro clear coat. At one point, our office parking lot resembled a scene from an episode of Hoarders, polishing junkyard hoods. Our UPS delivery guy thought that we were opening a mobile body shop.
After dozens of prototypes & development cycles, gallons of coffee, and a heated debate on whether “Glanzmax” sounded too “German” (it doesn’t, so we went forward as-is), we succeeded.
