You may only think of removing the obvious visible tar deposits from a long highway trip, when using a tar removing product. There is much more to tar removers and Gyeon Tar.
There is a step to make decontamination more thorough, which involves chemically removing the subtle tar built up from the roads that you may not notice.
Right behind the wheels on the lower panels, there is an area that is going to often be very contaminated with gunk when using a clay bar. Use of Gyeon Tar in this area will allow for a more accurate all-around decontamination and speed up the claying process.
There are other advantages here. Chemical and (clay) mechanical contamination removal provides peace of mind that the surface is surgically clean. Combining both methods will reduce potential paint marring from a claybar and likely extend the life of a claybar.
There are alternative (albeit imperfect) methods that allows you to get the car as clean as possible without using a claybar. This is important to know for various reasons whether it is time, clay marring, or working on a MATTE FINISH. When paint cleaners were more popular, a lot of the same properties that were in the cleaner polish are comparable to some of the properties that Gyeon Tar possess. That does not make it a perfect replacement or ideal. But a compliment and substitute, either by itself or with the addition of other products. Used after at least an iron remover, but also waterspot cleaner and alkaline soap (all-purpose cleaner infused car soap), make for a quality chemical exfoliation process. I usually wrap up those details with something like Gyeon Prep.
For projects like the following I prefer to spray Gyeon Tar into a microfiber towel. I will often use a rinseless wash to wash away the tar remover.
Adhesive removal has been my most recent popular use. Removing dealership decals that most people DO NOT want. The remaining adhesive can be safely removed with Gyeon Tar.
On this Porsche, the molding connecting the automotive glass was melting. I used Gyeon Tar to help clean this up.
