A good looking tire dressing is an important product to have as no vehicle looks complete without nicely finished tires. I have reviewed several tire & trim dressings over the years, and have found many that work great for us.
I have been testing this new Gtechniq T1 for the past month and have been quite pleased with the results. The product is a clear, relatively thin liquid which is best applied by wiping with your preferred tire applicator.
The tire seen below was dressed with T1 2 weeks prior to taking this photo. As you can tell, the tire still has a very nice sheen to it and looks nice and clean. It is not dull and dirty, however it has certainly lost the gloss that was present after the initial application.
Applying a new layer of T1 greatly enhances the shine. To me, this dressing is quite glossy. Just one coat produces a shiny look as seen below.
The product spreads easily which makes it simple to produce a uniform appearance. The manufacturer states that you can dial in the exact amount of gloss you’d like by adding additional coats at 10 minute intervals. We did not test multiple coats, as this is the most gloss I would personally prefer on my tires.
Overall this dressing certainly meets my expectations for a quality tire shine. It is easy to use, looks nice, and lasts for quite a while. The tire stayed cleaner and was also very easy to clean weeks after applying the dressing. I did not notice any slinging after application.
