Quick and Easy Mini Detail

Quick and Easy Mini Detail

This is taking the concept of my maintenance plan and incorporating it into a regular service for you.  I do not offer many of these types of details, but this kind of service (a little more than a wash) certainly has a demand.

There are two objectives here.  One, a deep clean of the car.  Second, to follow up with a spray on form of protection that is easy to use, works for a few months if the owner of the vehicle wishes, but could be part of a monthly protection process as well. Below is a list of products that I often use for maintenance details that can be applied here.

Starting off, I give the car two washes.  The first is your typical standard two bucket wash.  During this stage, if needed or appropriate I will also treat the front and other needed areas with a dedicated bug remover product for the pre wash process.

The second part of the wash process, I will pre-treat the car with an iron remover product.  If there are rock chips and or the vehicle spends a lot of time parked outside, I believe this is a great step in maintaining a freshly detailed look for the car with minimal effort.  After letting the car dwell for about 4 to 5 minutes I will rewash the car.

JenK.O. is a slightly acidic quick detailer and it works great as a drying aid after your wash process.  Also you can use it for door jamb touch ups as it has waterless wash usability.  If you are not really challenged as much dealing with hard water, you may skip and just use Gyeon Prep (next) step for similar usage.  I personally like the combination of both for details that are a little more than washes.  I believe for people who are challenged with water spots, whether a vehicle is coated or not, this is a secret weapon if you catch the mineral deposits early enough.

Gyeon Prep for me is more than just a polish residue remover. Since we are skipping the polishing step in this mini detail, I often give a car a final wipe down with Prep for the removal of traces of road film or cleaners still present on the surface.  It also can remove mineral deposits assuming it has only been on the surface for a short while.

After a thorough wash and decontaimination, I like the Jescar Ceramic Wax and it works great as a topper for the Jescar Ultra Lock Plus.  But it is a respectable standalone for a mini detail like this.

It is not necessarily the, “perfect detail”, but it can yield consistently good results that will make a majority of people happy.  If you follow this procedure once a month, your car will likely be better off than 90 percent of the cars that you see on the road.
