Product Review: Poorboy’s World Natty’s Black Paste Wax

KMG - Black

If you own a black or dark colored vehicle and enjoy using or applying wax, the new Poorboy’s World Natty’s Black Paste Wax will be the perfect product for you.  This was formulated for use on true black cars, although it can be used on metallic or pearl colors, you may notice it takes away from the color on these types of paints.  Poorboy’s World is a family owned and run company that does very little marketing and advertising, keeping the prices of its products at a lower price point while providing high dollar looks and results.  Poorboy’s World keeps all their products very basic with no flashy labels, however it is not how the container looks that is important.  There simple and basic looking products produce extraordinary results, guaranteed to make your vehicle stand out.

Natty’s Black Paste Wax

Just when we thought that we couldn’t get a deeper shine on dark colors with Natty’s Blue, Natty’s Black takes depth to another level. It can be used on all dark color finishes but is truly exceptional on black paint. The appearance is dripping wet, highly reflective and produces the deepest shine that we have ever seen on dark colors. Just like Natty’s Blue, Natty’s Black Paste Wax refracts light in such a way that it will help to hide minor imperfections. When Natty’s Black is applied over Black Hole Show Car Glaze for Dark Colors, the combination produces an unbeatable shine worthy of car shows but with application easy enough for anyone to get the best shine possible on a daily driver. A blend of 100% Brazilian Carnauba Wax and UV Absorbers ensure that the paint finish is well protected from the elements. Natty’s Black can also be applied as a topper over a sealant like EX or EX-P for added protection and gloss. Natty’s Black allows you to lay down a nice thin even layer of the wax and each jar should provide over 20 applications on a standard size vehicle. This paste wax is an easy to use, wipe on, wipe off formula that can be applied in the sun or in the shade. Muting of metallic or pearl in the finish may be observed and this is a result of the deepening and darkening and color enhancement properties.

For the application of the product I choose to use a 2001 Porsche Boxster.  This vehicle arrived in fairly rough condition and was lacking in gloss and depth due to the condition of the paint.  After a thorough paint correction, Poorboy’s World products will do an outstanding job restoring and protecting the beauty this German sports car deserves.

Much like Natty’s Blue and Natty’s Red, the application is as simple as they come, safe for application in the sun or shade.  Natty’s Black is 100% Brazilian Carnauba Wax with added UV absorbers for enhanced protection from the elements and sun.  The product can be applied by hand using foam like the Lake Country Red Foam Applicator or DI Microfiber Applicator Pad.  Poorboy’s World recommends using this product paired with one of their glazes or sealants to further enhance the looks and provide better protection.

I chose to use Poorboy’s World Black Hole Show Glaze, as it is designed for dark colored vehicles and will aid in masking defects that could not be safely removed during the paint correction process.  I am using my Rupes markII 15 with a black foam finishing pad.  You will want to prime the pad with the product to begin applying, which is done by adding a few drops to the pad and working the product into the pad with your fingers.

With the pad primed you are now able to begin applying the product.  You will go around the entire vehicle with the product and allow it to dry to a haze. At this point you can remove the product with a clean microfiber towel.

Once all the glaze is removed, you can move onto the application of Natty’s Black.  I do need to note that you are not required to use a glaze or sealant with this product, however for this application I felt the need to apply a glaze.  I applied Natty’s Black using the Rupes with a new black foam pad like the one used for the application of the glaze.  To apply the wax on the pad, you simply flip the container upside down and rub the wax on the face of the pad.  You will apply the wax at a lower speed setting of roughly 3 with your polisher, applying a thin layer over the entire car.

Once the wax has dried to a haze, wipe the surface clean with a new microfiber towel.  This product is extremely easy to apply and remove, leaving a very slick feeling surface with a deep dark look.

You will end up with increased depth and gloss following the application of Natty’s Black.  If you love that deep wet look for your black vehicle, Natty’s Black is exactly what you’re looking for!
