The Detail Solutions Podcast

detailsolutionspodcast

The Detail Solutions Podcast is hosted by Alex Russell and has been becoming incredibly popular in the world of detailing over the past few years. You can find episodes covering everything from fitness solutions when detailing, mental health, coating information, to interviews with detailers across the globe and manufacturers of popular detailing brands. DI’s own Greg Pautler just recently recorded an episode with Alex and you can find it anywhere you listen to your favorite podcasts (Apple, Spotify, etc.).

I had the pleasure of asking Alex a few questions about the podcast, how it started and what some of his favorite episodes are as well. Take a minute to learn more about Alex and the Detail Solutions Podcast below!

Q: How did you get started in detailing/business?

A: Like most detailers I started at the car wash and worked my way into the detail shop. This was 1996 so all I knew was rotary car wash Detailing. I eventually worked my way into management and ran multiple high volume car washes for 20yrs before starting my own detail business. In late 2015 the car wash I managed multiple locations was bought out and I did not want to join the new company, so I started my own detail shop with the support and a little backing from my car wash boss.

Q: How did the podcast come about?

A: I tell people I did what everyone else did in 2020 when Covid shut down the country, I started a podcast. Lol. I wanted my detailing podcast to be different than most that are just company run advertisements. I wanted it to be a “Get to know each other” style with detailers that I looked up to or that pushed me to be better. Then I started the topic base episode that was additional to the Q&A.

Q: What is your favorite part of the podcast?

A: My favorite part of the podcast is getting to meet new people from all over the world.

Q: Do you have a favorite episode or one our readers should go check out?

A: A couple of episodes I’m really proud of was the Health and Wellness. Which we discussed how we tear our bodies down without really knowing a lot of times. The second episode would be the one we did recently on Mental Health. That one we were able to have a professional mental health specialist on to talk about the things we can do to get back into a positive head space.

Q: Is there anything coming up in the future that you can share with us?

A: I’ve had the idea to do a product spotlight we’re we invite brands in to talk about their products. We just launched our first episode of that and it went over well. I’m thinking that might be a YouTube series.

Q: Tell the readers where you can catch past and future episodes!

A: The podcast can be found anywhere you listen to podcasts. Most listeners use Apple and Spotify.
