Photographing Your Car
by Robert H. Jacobvitz
* Robert H. Jacobvitz is not a professional photographer or professional detailer, but enjoys both photography and detailing as hobbies.
The photographs used in these guides were all taken in my driveway using a Canon 20D camera and lenses as indicated. The guide focuses on technical aspects of photographing the car in the setting of the weekend detailer, the driveway, particularly to show off the results of detailing, and not on creating photos with stunning or interesting scenic backgrounds.
This section is divided into six parts: Glossary of Selected Terms; Selecting Equipment; Shooting Tips; the Rule of Thirds; Advanced Photography and Advanced Photography Part 2. The glossary covers terms used in the article. There is a lot of good equipment on the market, this guide covers only a few examples. The Rule of Thirds is a basic composition technique that is easy to master. The last part discusses application of some of the photo tips given in the third part, with photos to illustrate the points.
