Gyeon Smoothie Review: Updated Version (My 1A)
by Rodney Tatum
Introducing the Gyeon Smoothie EVO. It really impressed me.
There is no perfect product. I tell this to myself. I get very close to saying this is or that it is clearly the best wash mitt by far. There are a couple of things that keep this from being perfect. But I consider the new Gyeon Smoothie to be one of the best products that I own.
Version one of the Gyeon Smoothie was my introduction to this type of wash mitt. But I ultimately found the Rag Company (Cyclone) Wash Mitt to be a much better option for me. Other similar wash mitts I preferred in some areas over the original smoothie as well. Fast forward to version 2 (EVO), which was promised to work as a traditional washing mitt or with their new Gyeon Rinseless solution.

It holds soap well. I trust this mitt over my paint over any other mitt. The only one close right now is my other co-favorite mitt, Rag Company Cyclone Mitt. The advertised versatility as a rinseless wash mitt, with a grit guard, is warranted.
Durability wise, this looks like a well-constructed wash mitt. It is comfortable to hold. It does not shed. I have had this wash mitt for about a year. It remains just as soft as when I received it. It has held up completely to washes. Though I pamper all of my microfiber products, by the way I wash them.
These are my two concerns. I believe it is so soft and so gentle that it can work against you in some cases. It may not pick up dirt and grime as well as other mitts from the painted surface. It is a classic case of its weakness being a product of its greatest strength. This is what keeps it from being perfect. It also appears (?) to hold on to dirt and grime picked up on a dirty vehicle slightly easier than some other wash mitts. That could be a bias, based on the light color of the wash mitt, which could also be a positive in disguise.
