User Experience – A Critique About Many Brands And Suppliers

by

I question the value of the included cheap sprayer packaged with detailing chemicals, when they immediately deteriorate after the first use. They are not effectively paired with most detailing chemicals.  I consider it a waste of money and likely a frustration for many people.

Gyeon Tire Cleaner

This is a rare ultra critically focused article, in a time where critiques and praise are irrationally judged.  This is a problem the end user can fix for a few dollars with the purchase of a dedicated sprayer.  Some people might categorize this critique as someone being petty or unnecessarily negative.  Many would look at my professional background and suggest why I would put myself in a position to be affected as a professional that uses larger quantities of products.  But I thought to myself that this may be a complaint on behalf of many consumers and an opportunity to benefit companies and warehouse suppliers.

First and foremost, as a detailer and product tester this does impact me regardless of how well I navigate inconvenience with grace.  But there is also a growing population of do-it-yourself detailers.  The expansion of consumers who are a notch below hardened enthusiasts is likely the greatest in the industry.  Do you not think after the second or third use, having issues with a spray bottle is not going to impact their perception of the product used?  Whether fair or not, do you think it is realistic that they would plan or be aware of this?

I could have produced an article pushing for the sale/benefits of top-of-the-line spray bottles and chemically resistant sprayers, while casually illustrating the obvious.  But I believe I am doing an even greater service speaking to the people that could benefit from this, the companies who package these detailing chemicals.  Many of us have become accustomed to or numb to consequential business scaling over time.  Simply put, company leadership seeking ways to cut costs at the expense of quality in ways consumers can somewhat accept.  Trying a new product to find a deteriorated sprayer in the middle of USE NUMBER 2, can annoy me.  I am not easily annoyed.  I imagine other consumers feel even more strongly about it.  For many of them, this is a sort of therapy.  It can more importantly, in the interest of both parties, affect the user’s perception of a product he or she may really like!
