A majority of people do not care about paint the way I would or perhaps you if you are do reading this far.  This may not be what a lot of people want to hear, but you have to critically vet the people you listen to and the places you take your car to.  I have chosen grocery stores based upon the type of crowd and available parking for my car.  Too much of the population a detail is a trip to the automatic car wash.  If you are someone who cares about your car like I do, those are not the kind of people you want to blindly trust in regard to your car.

Other people touching your car in general is an issue.  We learn that people can be blatantly inconsiderate or lack empathy.  There is another concern, even more significant, because that is where we often drop our guard.  Businesses whose staff and ownership fall in that same category.  I would advise against or at least be cautious about using valet services.

I see frequent disasters that are the possible consequence of someone taking bad advice from people who range from not caring at all to only moderately caring.  Numerous times on social media someone suggested for bug or paint transfer removal something that would likely lead to the following (below) damage.  Gather information from more reliable sources.  This website is a trustworthy site, though there are others.

Dealerships services, if you can avoid them and find a high-end small business automotive shop instead, that often is to your advantage.   The signs (Do Not Wash) are essential.   Many people know of this.  But many people do not realize a written and verbal reminder are essential, for every trip!  Not an excuse for the dealership but an explanation to protect you; they do not understand nor are they accustomed to our world.

Even better, having this mirror hang tag in addition to another reminder on the dashboard or location that cannot be overlooked.  Written instructions are often followed by a verbal reminder, at the dealership.
