Mini EZ Detail Brush Product Review
by Todd CooperiderWhen I first got my hands on the new Mini EZ Detail brush, I simply thought of it as a smaller wheel tool to complement the larger version that I already had. It did a tremendous job on the wheels, but the more I used it, the more areas that I found it to be an invaluable tool.
The Mini version of the brush measures 13″ long by 2.5″ wide in comparison to 18″ long by 4.5″ on the full sized model. It has soft nylon bristles that are tough enough to cut through grime, yet soft enough that they are safe to use in all areas of the car. The brush also features a nice knuckle guard just above the handle to protect your hands while cleaning tight areas, and a bonded vinyl tip to protect it from scratching.
The main shaft of the Mini EZ Detail brush is also flexible so you can bend it as needed to gain access to hard to reach areas (behind wheel spokes for instance).
I find myself using the Mini EZ Detail brush on every single detail that I perform, whether it is on the wheels, in the engine compartment, between exhaust tips, in door jambs, and more. It’s truly a versatile product that every auto enthusiast should have in their arsenal of detailing tools and supplies!
Use it for cleaning your wheels:

Hi Todd,
Is it okay to use the same Mini E-Z Detail brush on different areas of the car assuming it is thoroughly rinsed in between uses? Or would it be better to have one for wheels and exhaust tips and another for cleaner areas of the car like the door jambs?
Thanks,
Joe
Joe,
It’s always good to have a spare, so I would recommend using different brushes. Having said that however, you should be good to use the same one on both areas provided that they are completely cleaned before moving on to another section. I prefer to take the safe route and not risk it…just one less thing to worry about.
I hear alot of good about these brushes except that the handle often breaks. Did you experience that at all?
Marlene,
The E-Z Detail Brush was originally designed for motorcycle use, therefore they are quite flexible. If they are heavily used (by a detailer), and are regularly bent back and forth, it could possibly cause a weak spot. I don’t see this as an issue however because over time detailing tools and supplies wear out eventually and need to be replaced…brushes, mitts, towels, buffer pads, etc.
Can this brush be used on power coated wheels,i have noticed on my KMC wheels i am getting a few light scratches on them,do you have a wax you can recomend for them to protect them.
Tom
Powder coating is similar to paint when it comes to scratch-resistance, so given that I would probably opt for a soft wash mitt for keeping them swirl-free. Poorboy’s Wheel Sealant or Wheel Wax would be great options for keeping them looking great!
