Obsessed Garage Tire Dressing: A Natural Looking Finish

Tire dressing is one of those products where everyone seems to have a different preference. Some people like a lot of shine, while others want their tires to look as natural as possible. I am definitely in the second camp, which is one of the reasons I have really enjoyed using Obsessed Garage Tire Dressing.

Simple Application

One of my favorite things about this dressing is just how easy it is to apply. Once the tires are properly cleaned, you simply spray the product onto your applicator, work it into the tire, let it sit, and then wipe away any excess or high spots.

That is really it. Simple.

Obsessed Garage recommends allowing the dressing to sit for 15 to 30 minutes before buffing the surface, which gives it time to settle into the rubber.

I like products that do not require a complicated application process, and this is definitely one of them. There is no need to spend a ton of time working the product into the tire or worrying about getting a perfectly even application. Spray, spread, let it sit, and wipe it down.

A Natural-Looking Finish

The finish is probably my favorite part of this dressing. As mentioned in the intro paragraph, I am not a big fan of tires that look wet or overly glossy. To me, a freshly detailed tire should look dark, clean, and natural rather than like it has been coated in a layer of shiny dressing.

OG Tire Dressing Application

Obsessed Garage Tire Dressing gives you that matte look that I personally enjoy. It leaves behind a dark satin finish that really brings the rubber back to life without looking artificial. It also does a great job of increasing the contrast between the tires and the rest of the vehicle. When the paint, wheels, and tires are all clean, that subtle difference in the tire finish can make a surprisingly big impact on the overall appearance.

Great for Tires. What About the Trim?

Obviously, this product is designed as a tire dressing, and that is where I have used it most. But one of the things that surprised me was how well I liked it on exterior trim.

I used it on some of the trim pieces on my vehicle and was really happy with the results. It helped darken the trim and give it a more finished appearance without making it look greasy or overly shiny.

That is a nice bonus for me because having one product that can work well on both tires and certain exterior trim pieces can simplify the detailing process.

As always, I recommend testing any dressing on an inconspicuous area first, especially when using it on a surface other than the intended application.

My Take

Overall, Obsessed Garage Tire Dressing has become one of my favorites for a really simple reason…it gives me the look I want without making me work harder for it.

The spray and wipe application is extremely straightforward, and the finished product does not look like a traditional shiny tire dressing. Instead, it gives the tires a dark, matte appearance that looks clean and natural while adding contrast to the overall vehicle.

If you are looking for a matte tire dressing that can also be used on some trim surfaces, the Obsessed Garage Tire Dressing cant be recommended enough!
