The Rag Company Liquid8r – A Drying Towel That Delivers

by

The Rag Company Liquid8r Closeup

If you are serious about car care, you already know that the drying process is just as important as the wash itself. A poor quality towel can leave streaks, missed spots, or worse, scratches and imperfections. That is why I was excited to test out The Rag Company’s Liquid8r

and after putting it to work, I can confidently say this towel lives up to its hype.

Liquid – Ate – er

  • GSM: 1100 GSM
  • Blend: 70% Polyester / 30% Polyamide
  • Weave: Twist Loop
  • Border/Edging: Hemmed Hidden Edge
  • Country of Origin: China

Right out of the gate, the Liquid8r impressed me with its performance. It soaked up (ate) standing water (liquid) from my SUV’s exterior surfaces with ease, making quick work of a full post wash dry down. Despite being slightly smaller than my usual go to (I typically prefer 20″ x 30″ drying towel), the 20″ x 24″ size handled my average sized SUV perfectly. The towel glides smoothly across paint, glass, and trim, leaving behind no streaks or water spots, just a clean, dry surface.

One thing I really appreciated was how efficient and effective it was, fewer passes were needed, which cut down my drying time significantly. That is a big plus, especially when you are trying to detail a vehicle in less time. Below is a photo after one quick swipe of the Liquid8r.

Drying 50-50 Shot

As you can see the left hand side is almost perfectly dry, leaving only standing water on the right side, the side in which the drying towel was not used.

What makes the Liquid8r even more appealing is the range of available sizes, which means you can pick the one that best suits your vehicle size or drying style. Whether you are working on a compact coupe or a full size truck, there is a version of the Liquid8r that will fit your needs.

Hitting a Snag

That said, no product is perfect. The only drawback I noticed was that the Liquid8r can develop small pulls or snags if it catches on sharp trim pieces, emblems, or edges. It is not a dealbreaker by any means, but something to be mindful of when working around those areas as it seemed to happen much easier than other drying towels I have worked with.

Final Verdict:

The Rag Company Liquid8r is a top tier drying towel that delivers on its promise of quick, streak free results. While you will want to be cautious around edges and emblems to avoid pulls, the towel’s absorbency and performance more than make up for that minor issue. If you are looking to upgrade your drying game, the Liquid8r is definitely worth considering.
