Goodbye Fading & Yellowing: My Experience with CarPro DLight

by

CarPro DLight Review Featured Image

When it comes to protecting headlights, PPF, and exterior plastics, UV damage is often not thought about. Over time, the sun’s rays cause oxidation, fading, and yellowing that makes headlights look ugly and aged. I recently had the chance to test CarPro DLight Anti-UV Coating, and I came away impressed.

Why DLight Stands Out

CarPro designed DLight to block both UVA and UVB rays across a wide spectrum, making it one of the more complete UV-protection coatings available. It is not just a temporary solution either, CarPro claims durability of up to 3 years as well. You can have some peace of mind after a correction process, or if you are simply in a sun soaked state, your headlights will be protected for a long time.

My Process

I applied DLight after performing a full headlight correction process. The lenses had heavy oxidation and yellowing, so I started with a multi step polishing process, before they were ready for protection. To prep the surface, I used CarPro Eraser to remove any polishing oils, ensuring a clean surface for the DLight.

Application was simple. Using a CarPro Cquartz Applicator Block paired with a Suede Microfiber Cloth, I spread a thin, even layer of DLight over the surface. I used a cross hatching motion to make sure I covered the area completely and a 10ml bottle was more than enough to coat the headlights. In fact, I think I could easily protect 4 sets of headlights with ease. The conditions that day were also hot (high 80s to low 90s) but the product behaved well. It didn’t flash too quickly as it was applied to a cool surface and out of direct sunlight as it was later in the day.

Results

After about three minutes, I followed with a clean microfiber towel to remove excess product. The result was a smooth, slick finish with no streaks or haze. Knowing that DLight will keep oxidation, fading, and yellowing at bay for a few years as well, makes the effort of the correction process even more worthwhile.

Not only can you apply DLight on your headlights, but you can use it on other trim pieces as well. Use DLight on:

  • Headlights
  • Taillights
  • Vinyl
  • Plastics
  • PPF
  • Paint

Final Thoughts

Overall, CarPro DLight Anti-UV Coating earns a strong recommendation. It is easy to apply and delivers long lasting protection. For anyone investing the time to restore headlights, living in areas with more or more aggressive sun, or simply looking to extend the life of PPF and exterior plastics DLight is a smart choice.
