Overview

SEMA 2015 brings it’s first big announcement, the Rupes nano BigFoot iBrid! This small polisher, which resembles that of a large electronic toothbrush, packs a big punch it its little frame. We do not have the exact specifications on this high torque motor yet, but watching it in action at SEMA leaves us excited for the iBrid. 15 minutes is all you will need to charge the battery and each 15 minute charge will give you 30 minutes of run time. Do not have time to charge? No problem! The iBrid also has a cord attachment for continued use. 1″ and 2″ pads fit perfectly on the two backing plates this polisher comes with and their are two throw options, 3mm and 12mm. With the small silver piece (pictured below) you can easily change out backing plates and take advantage of the larger or smaller throw. You can even change from DA to Rotary in just seconds! This makes this buffer extremely easy to control and maneuver in various tight areas on the paint, near headlights, side skirts, wheels, etc. Any tight area you can think of really benefits from the iBrid!

When can we buy one? Just take my money!!!

    • Reece @ DI says:

Chas – No word yet on a release date or price, but believe me we are just as excited about it as you! Once we get a solid date and price we will be sure to make an announcement and add this to the site for pre-order.

  2. Looks like a must have!

  3. Rick says:

I was just wondering the other day why nobody had designed a battery powered polisher yet. This will make a useful marketing tool to demonstrate the possible results (with a test spot, real time, in front of them) that could be achieved on their car without the need to drag out big polishers and equipment. I had used a drill with adapter on 3″ backing plate for this in the past but that seems kind of ghetto compared to this.

    • Reece @ DI says:

The problem is that most battery powered options just do not pack enough punch or are as durable when compared to corded units. This unit seems to really have everything, brushes, rotary option, da option, cord adapter, or battery pack, and so much more. It really looks like a game changer and we are all super excited to get our hands on it!

  4. Tried it and loved it. The pricing I heard varied from $500 to $700 for the full kit. Who knows where it will end up!

  5. Alex Walton says:

It will be around 650 for the full kit. 2 batteries, cord adaptor, accessories. It is expected to be available in March 2016

  6. Rupes Big Foot iBrid Nano – L DLX Kit.
Whats the difference between the DLX and the L DLX , is it just a longer shaft ? Thanks

  7. Brae says:

One of these will be a game changer for me. Already I’m thinking of all the different ways I could use one. Sadly down here in NZ we’ll probably be looking at $1000+ and be waiting until maybe around June/July. I’d pre order one but I’m guessing you can’t get them in 220-240V!

  8. John Shutz says:

I ordered one and it’s ready for pick up at an authorized Rupes distributor. I can’t wait to use it on my Ducati 999R and Harley Road King.
