Product Review: Rupes UHS Easy Gloss

by

Gloss_Angeles_Rupes_UHS

I have been using the Rupes UHS for a few years now and it truly earned the name “Easy Gloss” and have become my go-to one-step.

Cutting Ability

Easily removes light to moderate imperfections with the UHS Pad. You can easily increase the cut with a microfiber pad, or reduce the cut with a softer foam like the Rupes Yellow Pad.

Finish

UHS must stand for U Have to See, because it finishes down glooooossy! For most finishes I can go straight to the protection stage.

Working Time

Has a broad range of cycle time, giving you more freedom to polish to the level needed. Polish is very smooth and easy to use.

Ease of Removal

I’ve used many polishes of the years, and this is hands down the EASIEST polish to remove, no pressure needed which is great for those delicate finishes that can get micro-marring just from removing the polish.

UHS Pads – They seem VERY stiff when you first use them, but don’t worry, after you get some product and start getting heat into the pad, it softens right up. Enough to make some body contours and easily move around the finish. And with pads ranging from 1.25″ to 7″ you can get into any area needed.

Overall

In detailing, often the industry jumps n the next new thing and while there isn’t as much hype around the Rupes UHS as there was in the beginning, it is still a staple in my arsenal while new products have come and gone.

1 Step polishes should not be confused with All in One (AOI) polishes that contain a protectant component. These terms confuse even seasoned detailers. There are many pad dependent polishes on the market like UHS, but we a detailers have to watch our terminology so we don’t confuse our customers or each other.

Great write up. The UHS system is great for those one step polishes. Leaves a great finish and corrects well.

  3. Tim says:

Good write up. Just ordered up the Rupes UHS Easy Gloss system including 6 pads to try out with the Rupes Mille. Always looking for a better way and one that might save me some time.
