About Us
Company Philosophy
Detailed Image is run by it's owners and we operate the business with uncompromising integrity and honesty. We shop online for ourselves and we like to treat our customers the same way we like to be treated while shopping online. We never share your information with third parties and we have the utmost respect for the privacy of your personal information. While shopping with us our goal is to provide you with the highest quality products to meet and exceed your detailing goals at a great value.
We hand pick each product on our site from manufacturers around the world. We are not affiliated with particular manufacturers so we take great pride in helping you find the products that work best for your particular needs without bias. Regardless of your budget, detailing goals or time restrictions we have the products to help you clean, shine and protect virtually every surface on your vehicle.
In combination with right products we have the detailing experience to help you learn the proper techniques involved with high quality detailing. Our Detailing Guide and Ask A Pro blog provide detailed instructions for each step in the process. We are also here to help you with any questions you may have about how to do any step in the process with advice tailored to your needs.
Future Plans
Detailed Image has come a long way since it's humble beginnings in 2004, but there are still many new and exciting things yet to come. In 2011 we are expanding our Ask A Pro blog to include exclusive videos, along with many new articles covering a vast array of detailing topics. Also look for great new products that we will be introducing throughout the year. After 7 years of business we stay entirely committed to being your source for high quality detailing supplies and information for years to come.
Company History
Detailed Image was founded in 2004 by Greg and George who were friends and neighbors growing up. The business started out of home with very humble beginnings and a lot of "sweat equity". George worked part time elsewhere and Greg was a graduate student. It began growing very fast and it quickly became a full time job for both of them. We initially did both a professional detailing service and operated our online store, but we later sold the service side of the business to focus exclusively on e-commerce.
In 2007 we decided to merge our business with two life long friends, Mike and Adam, to form Pure Adapt Inc. Adam and Mike both bring a wealth of business knowledge that have accounted for a large part of our growth. They are especially bright in the areas of web design, programming, web graphics, operations management and so much more. The new skills they have brought to our business have allowed us to grow faster while increasing efficiency.
In 2008 we moved the business to a 5,300 sq ft warehouse in Guilderland, NY to accommodate our growing inventory. We're continually improving upon the efficiency of our warehouse operations to ensure that every order is shipped quickly, accurately, and safely.
Detailed Image launched our redesigned website in the Spring of 2009 to provide you with a superior shopping experience. The site now looks better and functions more efficiently, saving you time and money. In 2009 we also began our Going Green Program, where we made many changes to our business to be more environmentally friendly. We now use biodegradable peanuts made from cornstarch, print all invoices using 100% recycled paper, and we recycle cardboard, plastic bags, bottles, cans, paper and more. We also partner with members of freecycle.com to recycle pallets, packing materials and more.
In 2010 George stepped away from the business to pursue other interests. We are all still good friends and wish him the best. In 2010 we also launched our Ask A Pro Blog, a community of some of the best detailers in the US who write about their top quality detail work, how to guides, product reviews and much more. This rare collection of in-depth articles can quickly help a novice detailer get outstanding results.
