While this backing plate is referred to as the 4" backing plate it's actually 3.5" or 85mm. Therefore it's the perfect backing plate to pair with your 4" pads. Use this Lake Country hook and loop backing plate for your Porter Cable 7424 with virtually any 4" pads. We highly recommend all Porter Cable 7424 owners invest in a set of smaller pads for increased polishing power and to work in tight spaces. Simply screw the backing plate in and attach your favorite pad and you are ready to go.Benefits of 4" pads on a random orbital buffer, such as the Porter Cable 7424:
