At first the smell is really strong and sort of gives off a bubble gum oder.. after a few days it calms down and gives off a nice unique smell..

Well although the unusual Squash smell comes on like gangbusters at first, after a week or so it provides a nice, sweetish background smell that is quite nice to my sensibilities. My initial purchase included the CS-X3 case which really isn't needed unless you want to make it part of your interior decor. I put mine under the front seat. The first refill lasted more than 8-weeks but I imagine that warmer temperatures will increase the rate of off-gassing significantly and, thereby, shorten its useful life. Most importantly, though, I like the smell!
