Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer Reviews

I always found Quick(Instant) Detailers to be one of the "money pits" of the industry. Buy a 16oz bottle of this or that for $10-15 every time it's empty. But here, here is something I wish the industry had far more of. A QD that comes in concentrate! Diluted 1:3 this is one of the best performing QDs I've come across and a little goes a long way. Combine these traits with the performance and you have one of the best QDs on the market IMHO. Super slick, wet gloss, and doesn't seem to degrade the hydrophobics of the underlying coat of Collinite #915. I have been recently using ONRWW as a QD but this is worlds better. Optimum Polymer Technologies strikes yet again with a top-notch product.

This is one awesome product, makes me wonder how can something so easy to apply and remove hold such a deep shine.

Since you can dilute this to a 4 to 1 you get a lot for your money . I use this as a spray as I dry the water off the car so you do not leave any scratches and this sets up the next step which then I apply an easy paint protector like the last coat or optimum spray on walk away . I have been using this for the last four years with great results .

I honestly bought this product because it said in the description that it adds slickness. Well, to my disappointment, it really did not do anything more than any other detailer as it did not add much slickness at all in my opinion. Maybe its the higher humidity in my area i am not sure but i am not impressed by this product.

I love this stuff, it goes a long way when diluted per the instructions. I use it whenever I'm drying my car for that added bit of shine and lubrication. I'm on my second bottle and I honestly don't think I'll wash my BMW without it ever again.

Just ordered my 2nd bottle of this amazing product! I've got 6 or 7 bottles of similar product but NOTHING I've purchased comes close to the results I get from Optimum. I listen to other detailers and try other companies quick detailer but they're all subpar in comparison. Whatever Optimum is doing is definitely working! I'm a customer and consumer for life! "KEEP IT GLOSSY"

Excellent quick detailer. Removes smudges, adds depth & shine, leaving a slick surface. I also like to use as a drying aide after using ONR for additional POP. Certainly will buy again.

A great go-to as a drying aid while adding a layer of shine and protection. I recommend spraying on your wet car, and using a MF to dry. It will add slickness while dispersing the water. Follup with a dry MF to lightly polish off any residue.

This is a very good quick detailer. It is a good way to add some gloss and slickness onto a vehicle that has been coated with Optimum Gloss Coat. It smells good and goes on relatively easy. It is also easy to buff. Very good product for removing light dust. I did find that it is a little harder to buff off during higher temperatures and higher humidity as it will flash a little quicker than normal. So I would recommend working in smaller sections. Other than that it is another great Optimum product.

Great detail spray with slightly longer dry time than some others I have used. Definitely enhanced the pearl in my Belize blue Accord coupe. Moved to the head of my list of detail mists by a few percentage points. Will buy again!

My wife's car is black, the shine is glossy and deep. My car is red, the shine is brilliant. The cars stay cleaner because of the reduced static electricity. Optimum Instant Detailer and a California Duster, you're ready for a car show at the drop of a hat!

Another Quality Optimum Product, Great slickness & Gloss enhancing ability. Best Instant Detailer I've ever used, Optimum Products never disappoint. My go to QD from now on.

This product does nothing. Have tried Mother's, Dodo Juice, Blackfire quick detailers and now this. To save the reader some time - Mother's actually does a little something - for a couple of days. None of the above, including this product, actually enhances. On the plus side, Optimum is much oilier which accounts for a slower drying time. On the other hand, because of its oily composition - it spreads in beads as opposed to a thin film. I think I am done experimenting - will go back to Mother's.

Really does add a good gloss to the car - surprisingly so. Did not expect that.

Best way to use is this is to have two microfiber towels, and use the first towel right after you spray on the product. Wipe the product to get off the dirt you are getting off, and then when there are still smears/smudges from the wetness of the product (TWSS) you then go over it with a second, dry, clean microfiber towel to clean off the excess product and buff up the gloss.This method gives the best shine and removes the smears from application.

My already very shiny car was even shinier after using this product. I like it a lot.

This is a great product. I purchased this under the many recommendations and reviews seen here on DI. I primarily use this after washing my car by lightly misting it on the vehicle and buffing it off with a microfiber towel to give the final result a much deeper gloss and shine. I would definitely recommend it as well.

As others have said, you will get no better final shine than you will from this product. I will definitely buy again. Great price and fast shipping - thanks guys!

This product gives an unbelievable gloss to the paint. Use it after the wax by the same company and your paint job will shine like it is wet!

I was a bit skeptical at first, but this stuff works very well and produces a very high gloss and extreme slickness. Eight ounces of product and then fill your one quart spray bottle with filtered water. I will be buying this again.

Outstanding product. Easy to apply. Tremendous gloss and slick mirror finish. Seems to help repeal dirt, and bird and tree droppings wipe off very easily. It is lasting through multiple rains so durability seems very good as well. I just bought the largest size! Incidentally, also works great on ceramic cabinets and on tile showers.

I have used many quick detailers and so far Optimum Instant Detailer is my favorite. Product wipes off easily and leaves surface slick with a very high gloss. Product is a little pricey but excellent performance makes it worth the price.

I ONR'ed the car in the garage at night and then drove 45 miles the next morning to a summer concours with the Mercedes-Benz Club. I used the Instant Detailer to wipe down the car. The surface was glistening and the car looked like jewelry among a sea of priceless classics. It was stunning. The biggest shock of all was that I won 3rd place in the concours!

This is the first time using this product and I am impressed with the ease of application. I will definitely buy again.

This is my go-to detailer. When purchased in bulk you can adjust the ratio as needed. It virtually never streaks, and adds a nice shine. While I almost always have a rotation of different detailers on the shelf, this is always one of them!

Does a nice job eliminating water spots when drying vehicle. Takes very little effort to remove and if you use it sparingly it does not leave cloudy residue. Great gloss and leaves slick surface. Perfect for maintenance shine with little extra time involved.

Sometimes The product ghosted and didn't dry that great. I know it's a concentrate, so I played with the mixtures and still didn't find a good medium. Chemical Guys Quick Synthetic Detailer blows this away.

Very good product. Just used it this past weekend with Optimum No-Rinse and it performed better than I expected. I purchased this solely because of the success I've had with other Optimum products and I'm glad I did.

Spoilers! I have an OCD concerning clean wheels. Once I clean my wheels I must seal them and maintain their shine for as long as possible. I have discovered that this product works great at cleaning off mild brake dust so long as a base layer of protection is present. The lubrication properties are fantastic. The name says it all.

I use Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer for final drying. It is very easy to use; just spray on, wipe on with one side of your plush microfiber towel, and wipe off with the other. It comes off with no streaks. I am not very sensitive to smell, but it has a pleasant one. Your car will shine. Recommended.

Probably the best detail spray I have ever used. I have only used it in the garage with completely cool paint but comes off easy with zero streaks. Just a quick mist spreads forever. I bought the 32oz and I can see already it will last a LONG time.

Has to be one of the best QD I have used to date. Recently I was going to take a long trip but didn't have time to wash my 06 TL. Used the Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer and a clean microfiber towel and presto!!!! The car had been garaged for a few days and had a light dusting. The QD did the job. Great product.

One awesome product i used it on one of my company trucks which is used for sanding and plowing and has a dull paint job and this product made it shine like brand new. I will buy this product all the time it is amazing!!

I love this detailer that I have a hard time putting it down, especially since it smells like bubblegum. I use it to boost the optimum car wax spray shine and leave the car smelling great with high gloss again.

This is my go to product for use with a clay bar. Super slick and a great smell. Also a great product when cleaning door jambs.

One of the best QD's I've ever used. Great gloss and nice slickness. I've used Z6, Z8, Meguire's QD and Finish Kare. None of them compare to Optimum. Love it, and it is definitely my go to QD from now on.

I just ordered the 17 oz. side to sample this product, and I can already say I'll be purchasing the bigger version next time. I haven't gotten a chance to dilute it yet, but one spray seems to cover a fairly large area. If you wipe the product around and it hasn't dried yet, just keep wiping over a larger area until it does dry. If you have some smearing, just make sure to either use less or spread it over a larger area and wipe it until it dries.


I'm seriously trying to decide if my car looked better after applying the dodo juice purple haze or after this stuff. It seems to give my black metallic mustang cobra a shiny, glossy, sealed look; instead of a nice deep carnuba waxed look.

I figured all these positive reviews couldn't be wrong, and they weren't. This stuff rocks.

This is an OUTSTANDING QD, used Dodo juice Rainforest Rub on my AW BMW then topped it with this and it made the paint super slick and glossy!!! Diluted it 3:1 with distilled water. As soon as this 32oz is done I'll be purchasing a gallon!!!

This instant detailer is an excellent value. Don't be mislead by that fact though! It is easy for people to think that a product that is so cheap (buy the concentrate!) can't work as well as the more expensive products. It would be a mistake to believe that when it comes to Optimum's Instant Detailer and Gloss Enhancer. It does require a bit more care in use than other ID's as it can streak if not careful, but it is worth the little extra attention that is required since it gives a better gloss and depth than any other ID that I have used, which is quite a few.

I'm glad George recommended this product to me. A light mist wipes away quick, with no streaking problem like other products. I love that it's a concentrate, so a quart makes a gallon - very affordable! My new favorite QD.

This is a quick detailer that works well on all exterior surfaces. Adds nice gloss and slickness, primarily on silver and lighter-colored vehicles. The price is amazing, $15 for a 32oz concentrate (dilute it 3:1). You don't need to dilute with distilled water, plain tap water works great. Seems to refresh gloss and slickness of any existing paint protection. For the price and performance, I will always have this product on my shelf.

I have tried many QD's and this is the best so far at any price. i bought the gallon. When you dilute 3 to 1 the cost per gallon is incredibly low! Use a plush to buff and you will feel when you're done. It is that smmoooth! Better than CG synthetic. Duragloss, Griots.Ultima or Megs FI and a much better value with 4 gallons when diluted with distilled water. 5 Stars!

Wow I love this QD. I have the following QD's on my shelf: UQD, Last touch, CG Speed wipe, Pinnacle XMT, DP rinseless w/g at QD strength, CG synthetic...this one is by far my favorite.

Last touch is my go-to for a "cleaner" qd, but OID is the best for shine and slickness QD.

This is a great quick detailer. I have tried many and this is my favorite. I can stop my search for a great quick detailer that is cheap enough for me to use several times a week.

Nice product. Not a lot of cleaning power, but it doeas shine well and is easy to use streak free. Smells nice, and well priced as a concentrate.

This product is truly the best instant detailer I have ever used. I have used almost ten different ones and this surpasses them all as far as cleaning ability and shine afterwards. It only adds to the wax underneath making it even that much better. If you are looking for an instant detailer don't look any further than this it is truly amazing!

No only is this a great product, but it's cheap...considering that you get 4 gallons from 1. I've used FK425 for years and years. When I couldn't find any more to buy, I had to try something else. This was recommended, and it work just as good as 425, but it's leaves a much nicer gloss. I'll be using this product from now on.

Product is the best QD I have used in a long time. Really does a great job and is a very good clay lube as well. I would highly recommend this product and it smells great.

Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer is truly the best quick detailer I have used. Works great for removing polishes safely from the paint. Also after your opti-seal has cured, lightly mist this product and wipe away for an extremely slick surface. Buy the 32oz and turn it into a gallon. Excellent product.
