P&S Brake Buster Non Acid Wheel Cleaner Reviews

I have been using P&S Brake Buster exclusively for a couple of years. I want a product which will clean both Tires and Wheels, without being too harsh on either and Brake Buster does just that. It is priced right and works as described. If you are looking for a combination cleaning product, give this a try.

P&S Brake Buster is by far the best wheel cleaner I've purchased.

10/10 would recommend. It works perfect straight up or diluted in a foam sprayer. Just buy it already.

I'm really apprehensive in using cleaners on my polished billet aluminum wheels but this works great on them. It doesn't etch or leave residue from cleaning the brake dust off of my wheels. During a long road trip, my front wheels get really dirty from brake dust, so I keep a small spray bottle of it in my cleaning kit so I can clean up the wheels along with the rest of the car. Of course it works well for the DD cars. Great product.

So far in testing this wheel cleaner is very effective. There are occasions I've noticed on more neglected wheels this product will only go so far and you have to use other "select" chemicals to cut through.

This is the best maintenance wheel cleaner. It will clean a moderately dirty wheel but will require more product and scrubbing. You can use it to clean the tires at the same no need for multiple products. I also use it to clean plastic floor mats and as bug remover making it very economical and now I buy it 5 gallons at a time.

AWESOME...This product cleans off everything on my rims without harsh chemicals and requires no elbow grease.

The good news is it's dilutable and cleans wheels and tires. You'll have to guess as to dilution ratios because it doesn't say on the bottle. I tried 7 to 1. I didn't get my wheels entirely clean which is probably my fault for neglecting them for too long. The contamination became baked-on and nothing short of sanding them is going to remove it. For whatever it's worth, I also tried Meguiar's Ultimate Wheel Cleaner which didn't do the job either. Did make some improvement though.

Wear gloves when using Brake Buster. I got some on my left hand which I used to apply the product and my hand turned red and broke out in little red spots. My right hand, which did not come in contact the product was fine.

Love this wheel cleaner, use it on tires as well and works great.

I don't have satisfaction using it with the ik foam set up. Its ridiculously foams and bubbles in the bottle. Don't shake the foamer because its foams and the outcome isn't happy at all ..but I didn't give up yet. I will give couple of other methods to find use of it best if I I will write up here ...in my personal opinion concentrate is better than this product.

My go to mild rim/tire cleaner. Safe on all rim types.

This is my main wheel cleaner now. My preferred method is to use a dedicated foam cannon, fill it with straight product (could dilute more) and then quick spray covers the wheel, tires and wheel well. Not the absolute strongest cleaner but very efficient on maintained wheels and works well on pretty dirty wheels too. Cost effective also. Will probably buy the 5 gallon next time

Once again, P&S made an amazing product. This wheel cleaner is by far one of the best on the market today.

Pros: you can dilute it quite a bit, doesn't hurt your hands, somewhat neutral smell, takes all the dirt/brake dust/ grime off of your wheels and tires, and it is easy to use

Cons: it sometimes takes a few coats to work on certain wheels, and sometimes it takes time to let the product sit on the wheel to work.

Overall, solid wheel cleaner for the price and all detailers need this in their supplies.

P&S Brake Buster Wheel Cleaner has been a GREAT discovery. We keep our Euro Cars wheels clean at all times. This being Dilutable is economical and spot on for our needs. We always have a gallon on hand. Combined with Marolex Foam Sprayer for the win...

Great product for heavy dust covered euro wheels and neglected tires and wheels.
I follow the dilution rate on the container and adjust accordingly to the amount of dirt and grime on the wheels.
I'm new to the P&S brand and I'm very satisfied with their products and pricing.

I've seen a lot of positive reviews on P&S Brake Buster, so I decided to try it. I usually clean wheels with Meguiar's D1801, but for lightly soiled wheels it seemed to be overkill. I tried it on my three vehicles, I found it cleaned the wheels very well. I would buy this again.

I have been using it for about a year and a half and since then I haven't gone back to using any other wheel and tire cleaners any longer. It's also very effective at a 5:1 dilution with distilled water in a pressurized sprayer like the Kwazar or IK foaming sprayers. It also cleans the grime off tires really well and foams up nicely, not to mention the antirust inhibitor helps keep brake rotors rust free after a wash. I don't see myself using another wheel and tire product any time soon. Great stuff

Would I buy P&S Brake Buster again? ABSOLUTELY. Use it in my IK Foamer.

Would I buy the small spray bottle of it again? NOPE. Bought one to use at the coin wash with ONR. The trigger that is included broke on my second wash.

Phenomenal product that's extremely usable at various dilutions! Pair this up with the IK foam sprayer and you'll have a dynamic duo for your wheel cleaning process!

I bought 2 gallons of this junk because of the good reviews that were given for it. I have high performance brakes "Brembos" on my Jeep trackhawk which create a lot of dust. I was using Adams wheel cleaner which is kind of expensive, you can buy two of these for the same price as one of Adams. No brained right? Well I was wrong, I spend more time cleaning my rims than I do washing the car. I use three different wheel brushes and the time spent isn't worth it. I've used Adams on this and another vehicle for about three years and never had an issue with corrosion or anything with Adams. So Detailed Image please start selling some Adams wheel cleaner!

This is my go to product when I clean tires and wheels. Combining it with the correct brushes it always gets the job done. I bought another gallon just so I would be sure to have it whenever I need it.

For the price of a gallon you can't really beat it. Brake buster is for sure the best non acid tire cleaner. Use this in an iK foamer 4:1 or 5:1 and product works even better and since it's diluted it's an amazing buy. Only Con I have is like a typical non acid it's not the best for heavily soiled wheels like it says IMO.

Price is right, product is great. I don't see a difference between this and Adam's, but it is equally as good. I do feel I use more of this product than Adam's, though.

Great stuff. Ive used on lightly to heavy/ moderately soiled wheels and they always come out great. This is my 2nd order for one gallon. Its not just the price but the quality of this wheel cleaner that impresses me. I've used really expensive stuff but this cleaner compares equally. Ill continue to buy. If ur wheels r super caked on and haven't been cleaned in years im not sure how well this stuff will work.

Not sure if I got a bad batch or something... Even undiluted it does very little to clean brake dust, and the rotors still rust the same.

This is the best tire/wheel cleaner out there. And I've tried many products. I follow the cleaning with Stoner's More Shine Less Time for Tires for an awesome look.

Works well on wheels that have little to no brake dust. had to re-apply multiple times & agitate on wheels that with adams wheel cleaner would be a one shot, with very little agitation to a sparkling shine !

This is a nice iron remover for wheels if you wash your car consistently. Meaning atleast once or twice a month, it a bit harder to remove if car hasn't been washed for long months to year..

I will purchase again for maintenance care washes and use the heavier iron remover for cars that are more neglected.

It's a most have in my arsenal. Love this stuff very cost effective as well.

I like that I can clean the brakes and tires with this product. The spray nozzle failed however after only four uses.

Save your money and use an APC. I have found this to be a very weak,product. Takes 3 to 4 applications (with brushing) to remove all the "brown-ness" from the tire as opposed to 1 application of Power Clean.

Love this stuff got a couple gallons and know I'll be getting more in the future. They nailed it with this product.

This is by far my favorite wheel and tire cleaner. I like to use it diluted in the IK foam sprayer. It's cost effective and gets the job done.

Best Wheel Cleaner.

I've been using brake buster for most of this summer now, and I'm loving it. At least the methods I use generally work very well for me.
I dilute about 1:4/1:5, chemical to water, in the IK Foam sprayer (when it works) and a splash of straight chemical in my wheels wash bucket and foam that up with pressurized water. I blanket the entire wheel with the foam sprayer, and start with the tires first. Another awesome pro, this works really well on tires even diluted. I do keep my APC handy for really neglected tires, but don't need it too often. So tires first, which give the product some time to work on the face of the wheel, then I do the barrel of the wheel, then the face of the wheel, switching out corresponding brushes of course with each section. Usually this is all I need before rinse down. I do not recommend it as a touchless wheel cleaner, but I haven't tried it undiluted either in that respect. With the worst of the worst, I'll foam up all the wheels at once, and give it dwell time before rinsing down, then proceed with my above steps one wheel at a time.

Whatever the case, I found this to be the best wheel cleaner for me, at least with my methods. But gosh darn, the price is just unbelievable so even if you don't go through all the hassle I do on each of my customers cars, why not try it out?! At home enthusiasts should be fine with the 16oz bottle even if they only cut it 1:1 with water, but a professional will do great buying the gallon in bulk and investing in a foamer solely for this purpose.

Bottom line for me, is I'm a rather recent customer of P&S, But they've turned me into a fan with most of Renny Doyle's collection of incredible products at insane prices.

This product works well on my 2019 RAV4 wheel rims and makes the cleaning process easier. The price is reasonable based on my comparison shopping.

Great cheap cleaner to maintain wheels after they've been protected so you don't have to keep using the more expensive iron remover each time. I also found it works amazing for cleaning engines as it smells more like an all purpose cleaner and it has been safe on numerous surfaces I've used it on.

Great maintenance wheel and tire cleaner. Lathers and foams nice and not harsh on the rotors. Would stick with dedicated wheel and tire cleaners if your detailing dirtier cars.

I bought into the hype about this product and its not a bad wheel cleaner but there are cheaper more effective options other than this product. I compared this to the Nanoskin Non Acid Wheel Cleaner and hands down the Nanoskin was better performance wise. It can also be diluted 4:1. I've tried this product straight and diluted. Not super impressed.

Great product. The convenience of having the same cleaner for the rims and tires is a plus. I'll definitely be buying more when this runs out.

Like others have mentioned here,I also dilute Brake Buster to 5:1 and use a IK FOAM 1.5 sprayer. Even before a little agitation, there was brown foam running off the tires. I'm very happy with BRAKE BUSTER. I will be ordering the gallon size with my next order.

Used a multi-sprayer, and I got good results, but I moved to an IK foamer so the product would stay on the wheel and tire longer. You do need to agitate it, but even with the multisprayer (diluted about 1-1) I still got better results than with some other specialty wheel cleaners. Looking forward to using it as a foam. My wheels are pretty clean most of the time, just brake dust and barrel dirt. So I will try the 5:1 and if I need more go to 2 or 1:1 on dilution.

Love this product it's my go to for rims and tires I use it in kwazar foamer diluted 5:1 simply spray let sit for 2 to 3 mins and rinse off

I love that it can be used effectively on wheel wells and tires. I have found that it needs to be used straight or 1:1 personally( Which P&S doesn't say to dilute anyways) to be effective. Tried out of an Ik foamer at 5:1 and had to break out stronger cleaner to finish on a few different vehicles. I will probably keep it in my arsenal, but use it with a traditional spray bottle undiluted or 1:1.

Fantastic wheel AND tire cleaner. I dilute it 5:1 in the iK Foamer. Straight would be best for tires or very awful wheels. Smell is not harsh either.

I was impressed. Worked very well. I've been using another wheel cleaner for years and notice that the results don't seem to be as good as in the past, so I wanted to try something new. I would recommend this wheel cleaner.
