If you want to remove ALL the surface imperfections, like swirls, oxidation and ultra fine scratches, you need three things. You need a quality rotary buffer, outstanding polishes that are applied with the right pads. The Makita 9227C-X3 is one of the safest rotary buffers ever made that will give you all the power you need to remove the imperfections. It has a variable speed trigger and a speed dial so you can start off slow and easy while learning and later crank it up as needed. Learning how to use a rotary is much easier with this unit since you can start at 600RPMs, where as many other units start at 900-1200. With a little bit of practice you will feel comfortable using the buffer and getting great results! Now for most vehicles you can do a two step polishing routine and remove just about all of the surface imperfections. The Meguiar's 205 and 105 are two of the premium polishes on the market today. The 105 is used first and it's a very strong cutting polish that finishes down very smooth and glossy. It remove those deeper swirls, very light scratches, oxidation, etc. and gets your paint back on track. Next use the 205 to remove any haze and further reduce any surface imperfections.
