Intensive Polish (IP)
Manufacturer: MenzernaImperfections in the clear coat are somewhat inevitable from normal driving conditions which cause the vehicle to show its age. In order to sustain or restore bright and vibrant paint the clear coat protecting the paint must be free of embedded debris, swirls, scratches and oxidation. When light tries to pass through these surface imperfections it fragments in many different directions and reflects a dull shine. The micro abrasives that are used in the Menzerna Intensive Polish will buff your clear coat to help permanently remove surface imperfections. After using this polish the clear coat will now be more transparent, allowing more light to pass through, so you get the deepest reflection possible. This medium cutting polish is the step where you start to see serious results from your detailing efforts. Whenever you use a medium cutting polish we typically recommend you follow it up with a lighter polish to ensure there is no haze and the surface has optimal gloss.
Great medium cut polish. Strong enough to remove swirl marks / scratches, but not soo strong that will cut too deep into the clear coat. If you have swirls and scratches, I suggest using this, then see if you need a heavier polish. Definitely finish it off with the PO106ff to remove any micro-marring or hazing this polish might leave.

The IP is a very good medium cut polish. It removes swirl marks with ease. I used it in conjunction with the FPII as the IP tends to leave a haze on the paint. It is definitely worth the time and money.

As a beginner, I found it a little difficult to work with. It takes some practice.
I was able to go straight from IP to an LSP (wax).

Applied with a PC 7424 with LC orange pad. Took several passes to get the results I wanted on a 2003 Infiniti with very light swirling. I was using al LC Orange pad, perhaps the yellow would get better results.
The polish also seems to dry once it is applied to the surface VERY quickly, making me question how effectively it can be breaking down.

Found the product to break down fast using level speed but should be a problem if youre working in small areas only. Used with the orange pad, it removed 80 of light swirls on my Jet Black M3. I then followed up with the Merzerna PO106ff to fill in the rest of the swirls using the white pad.

The polish removed 80% of the swirls i had on my Jet Black M3. I used the polish with a orange pad and PC 7424. i found that the polish breaks down quick but shouldnt be a problem since you are working in small areas only. i then followed up with the Merzerna PO106ff/white pad to fill in the rest of the swirls.

Excellent medium cut polish. Applied with a Flex Xc 3401 VRG and an Orange Cutting pad. Removes swirls with ease. Some light hazing is noticeable after polishing, but following it up with Menzerna Final Polish II brought back a brilliant shine and slick surface.

When used with Porter Cable 7424 and the LC Light Orange pad, it removed nearly all "spiderweb" swirl marks. A few, slightly deeper, scratches remained. The IP left a decent gloss after use with no/minimal hazing. On silver paint you can probably go straight to glazing or waxing after using IP. All in all it removed about 80-85% of the scratches and swirls.

This is an outstanding polish. I love it on softer type clear (honda). It provides a great 2 step polishing routine if you couple it with UF or final polish II to remove any possible haze and really brighten up the paint. I have use it as a one step with good results on clients that aren't looking for max effect, ie. car dealerships.
