3D ACA 500 X-tra Cut Compound Reviews

Works great, low dusting, long working time, finishes down nicely, goes a long way. Can use with wool or foam. We mix this with 3D 505 for a one step on steroids.

Great complement to 3D One. Cuts really well with a wool pad.

I love 3D products and this definitely didn't let me down. If you need a good cutting compound then this is the right choice.I also liked the working time. Will be purchasing more when I run out!

3D all the way. I grabbed some Rupes white yellow and blue foam pads and this stuff along with the 520

Best compound available, and I've tried a bunch! Cuts fast, low dust, and super easy cleanup. Not cheap, but no more expensive than Sonax, Menzerna, or the worst of the bunch, 3M, that I got away from.

The staples of my arsenal are:

ACA520 Polish
3D ONE Hybrid
ACA500 Cpmpound

Because 3D ONE excels at its job so well, it is very rare that I have to break out the Big Dog that is ACA500.

What I love about 3D products is that they all have a similar feel to them the compound and polish share feel characteristics where the compound feels and behaves like a polish. I was used to dusty, gritty, dry feeling compounds, but not here with 3D. Even ACA500's brother - AAT501 shared this trait. This means that they have a fairly smooth feel, and way less dusting than a lot of other compounds. Stays wet on the surface until you are done cutting.

Easy clean up, and for the amount of cut it delivers, the finish is very good.

I use it mostly with Buff and Shine Uro-Fiber pads, and the cut is just excellent with this pairing.

Also works great with the Green Hex Logic pads as well.

The only thing I don't care for is the scent. Both ACA500, and AAT501 have a very strong, piercing, lingering scent that on the surface smell good, but after a while it gets annoying. It sticks for a long time, and is harder to wash out of the pads than the abrasive particles themselves. If I could ask 3D one thing, it would to dial back the scent in their heavy cut compounds - just a touch.

Other than that, it's going to be tough to find a heavier cutting, more user friendly compound. Worth every penny!

Superb cutting. This is now my go to compound. Get it, you wont regret it!

IF you take the time to learn the way this polish works out on different types of paint & pay attention to the differences how pad selection affects the cut you will not be disappointed in the results that you can aquire.
This polish is packed with a lot off abrasive, amount of polish & work times can be adjusted to attain some amazing results.

This cut quickly and left a scratch free surface on recent clear...I am going to try it on an aged paint job soon...I'm sure I will get the same results.

This is a great compound. It cuts well and it finishes out well. Nice working time and no dusting. It pairs nicely with 3D One.
