Griot's Garage G9 Random Orbital Polisher Reviews

I purchased this mainly for a backup polisher. I tried it on a few cars and it is smooth and powerful enough for enhancements on paint. Some have had trouble with the cord but time will tell.

Sweet! Have had my G15 for 7yrs; started to lose a little confidence in it so bought the G9 and after reading a few reviews. Just used it for the first time doing full detail on two cars (Forester and Escape) over two days. G9 handled like a dream, even for my 75yr old hand and shoulder joints. Smooth operation, easy to maneuver laterally and up &down. Pleasantly quieter than G15. Bought 5" plate for it as suggested by many. Only surprise (only 1 time): ext cord came loose when extending across a roof; refastened cord and had no further problem. Would absolutely buy again for a weekend warrior.

Used it twice. Literally for a total of maybe 4 hours. Same issue and another review....trigger/power lock broke. Tool works although intermittently. Had to finish job using another tool. Now need to get replacement as I bought it less than a month ago.

Finally got around to use it! Ran great for 4 hours then the trigger lock mechanism broke so now I am trying to figure out what to do and how to get it warrantied! Good machine crappy reliability

Great polisher. Well balanced, very little vibration, easy to use.

More than enough power, quieter than my 7424, runs cooler with the built in fan, feels great in my hands, don't hesitate to buy.

I wish I would have had this polisher years ago. I polished my entire truck with griot's 3 in 1 and it looks better than it did from the dealership. Amazing how much help a brand new 2020 GMC needed. Highly Recommend.

Nice polisher the fit and finish are excellent it price point is very nice for what you get all around this polisher is awesome best bang for your buck

Good portion of the review first. Great machine, ergonomic design is comfortable for prolonged use. Loads of power, this thing only stalls when you try to make it stall, using proper technique and this will serve you well. Love the removable cord, makes storage easy. Have put about 20 hours under my belt with it and would buy it again. Now for the bad. Only one gripe I have with the machine, the trigger lock and spring shot off. You read that correctly, launched away from the machine and the user, me. Found the button but couldn't find the spring.

Contacted griots and yes they do have a lifetime warranty, it is your responsibility to pay for shipping. Thought that was kinda lousy. Found the receipt from the auto parts store I purchased it through and returned it. I liked the machine so much I bought another one from detailed image.

So I purchased this machine about 2 months ago yesterday I was using it and it just stopped working on me. I swapped the brushes thinking that was the issue still no juice I pushed the quick connect cord and it powered on I let go it shut off. I contacted Griot's they told me to send the cord back and a replacement would be sent but that I would have to pay the shipping. Anyhow last night I ordered a 25 ft cord from here and overnight paid 42.99. Just be aware this is an issue another then that, great machine
