I have used coatings by Gtechniq, Gyeon and Diamond Pro Tech... I bought Inspiration Stout because I had a truck coming in that would not fit in my garage and the owner wanted it coated. Let's just say I have a new favorite coating! Two hour cure time, easy on/easy off (just apply it in small sections) and the hydrophobics are incredible! I just bartered a ceramic coating with Stout for some electrical work art my home.

This one is special. It's instant bonding, and 30secs to flash and wipe. You will have high spots. They will come off with polish, then use panel prep and re coat the spot. Take a minute before to set your lights to see your sections, especially on dark or white paintwork. In my case, I installed it on the incredible mazda 46v soul crystal red. I found I needed to turn off my 26,000 lumens of shop lights and use a next led coating light and my headlamp to see my wipe off. Because it goes on thick, and flash is so quick, the initial wipe will spread the coating a little beyond your applied area. If you don't catch that it's a high spot. Use some towels with this coating, don't try to go through with one towel. Also have plenty of applicators on hand. I used 5 and the included one. I kept dropping them, it made me mad, wasting product, I was thinking I needed to see a doctor. The reason was my gloves were super slick from this coating! Get the big size bottle, this is the slickest coating I used, easily rivals nasziol 272 slickness, especially after a few minutes. So with all this hassle, why would you want this coating? Like my first statement of my review, this one is special. It has a depth and warmness that no other coating seems to provide, like a wax. The gloss is perfect, give it only a very gentle ph neutral first wash after a week or so. If you wash in a few days, like they claim is ok, I saw it give up a little gloss. After a week, it's gloss is locked up in a beautiful deep, slick layer of glass. Hydro performance is great, it's just a beautiful coating on a red or black. On a white, I'd probably use the clean 8yr, just because the beauty of stout would not show up on white. Just plan out your sections, especially on intricate areas like a cargo hatch to avoid high spots. The jetting effect is really great with Stout, plastics are beautiful. This is not a coating for the inexperienced. It's a little different that all the easy coatings out these days but I will gladly trade a little installation difficulty for the durability and depth I see with Stout. It's just a gorgeous coating.

UPDATE - 11/19/25.

I'm writing a follow up, it's been on a few months now. Holy smokes, this has to be one of the most beautiful coatings available. The hydro performance is amazing, the slickness is amazing, the increase in durability of super soft paintwork looks great. I'm floored every time I walk into my garage. I reserve Stout for the customers who will appreciate it, as it's not an easy install until you have done a few. This is definitely a pro level coating but the rewards are so great with Stout. Deep, warm gloss like nothing else. Slicker than anything I've installed in 7 years. If you have a special vehicle that deserves a special coating, this is it my friend.

The Stout has been amazing.

Application does come with a bit of a learning curve since it's a high-solids coating that flashes quickly depending on the environment. Full panels are usually too big to handle at once unless they're very small, so it's best to work in smaller sections%u2014just like P&S recommends. For example, split a door into top and bottom halves. The coating blends well, so you won't run into awkward panel break lines that can be noticed in dark paint.

It needs to be wiped off faster than other coatings I've used%u2014even faster than Ceramic Pro 9H from back about 10 years ago. This has held true even in cooler fall temps. I recommend having plenty of applicator pads handy because this coating tends to use more product, and coverage improves with more material applied.

Application tip: Don't cross-hatch. Instead, make one slow, solid pass with a thicker application. Cross-hatching can speed up the drying and make leveling harder. Once the section is coated, wipe it off almost immediately, then follow with a secondary towel.

I did run into areas that weren't leveling properly (black paint) when I tried to do too large of a panel or didn't use enough product. If that happens, you need to go back immediately, apply a bit more product, and wipe it off right away. That removed high spots that wouldn't level otherwise. Timing is critical here%u2014catch them as soon as you notice.

To check for high spots, use multiple lighting angles. Direct lighting from a headlamp or paint correction lamp works, but also try holding a piece of white cardboard or a white sign low on the panel and looking across the surface. Smooth white walls with indirect lighting are also excellent for spotting high spots before they lock in.

The slickness is unmatched. Unlike other coatings where the towel grabs, this one is the opposite%u2014it's so slick that high spots can be difficult to wipe off if you miss them at first. Immediate, somewhat firm leveling is almost necessary.

Overall, I love it so far, slickness at its best and will continue to put it to the test. Thank you!
