Overall, if you are looking to cut fast with minimal after effects of using an aggressive pad, then look into the Rupes Wool Coarse pad.
Customer Reviews
Love Rupes pads. One of the best.
Product reviews have been extreamly positive and favorable. This was my first purchase of a Rupes product Way, way over priced for the quailty presented.
Rupes Wool Pads are the best. I never use foam for cutting and polishing.
One of my favorite go to wool pads, no linting and polishes down really well.
I've tried these before and I didn't care for the rough ride they would give upon initial use, but I had an incident change my mind.
At work I sometimes have to do touch up, and with that some sanding. On two vehicles I had trouble correcting the sanding marks out of painted plastic bumpers with our Lake Country Microfiber Cutting Pads. On regular panels, that pad cuts very well! But on the painted plastic, I couldn't get any correction (Starting with 3D ONE which typically gets the job done with that pad). On this first occasion, the day ended and I came back armed with a couple blue and yellow Rupes Wool pads. I started with the Jescar Medium on the blue wool and that removed 85% of the damage. From nothing to 85% just by changing the pad and the juice. For the next application I used Jescar Correcring Compound and it was over. It actually finished out beautifully too.
The next car, the boss did the sanding, and he finished with way too high of a grit. Again, started out with microfiber and was again thwarted... I switched to an Adam's red and white wool pad with 3D ONE and in two applications, wiped out all of the sanding marks.
It was then that I logged in to Detailed Image to make an order. I can only assume it's how the wool keeps the surface cooler, and maybe that the wool fibers are much bigger and bolder than Microfiber. They also have cuticles which might aid in overall cut.
So I've learned to live with the initial rough ride so I can get a significantly faster result.
Side note, I used the yellow recently for a one step with 3D ONE. I just zipped around that car, removed 90+% of the swirls accumulated since 1995, and left a high gloss finish.
I'm happy and relieved to have more of these in the bag. I could see s scenario where I don't use microfiber anymore, if I keep reaching for these.

One of my favorite cut pads out there I like pairing it up using Rupes coarse compound paired together and if you know what your doing you sometimes and even finish out
I love the cut and finish of this pad. It's biggest flaw for me is it's susceptible to heat on cycling certain compounds down. The foam breaks down and comes apart prematurely.
This pad combined with DA Course on a 21mm polisher will remove most defects we encounter. It is rare for me to grab the rotary now. In cases where this combo doesn't cut, I usually end up doing a quick bit of spot wet sanding then hitting the area with this combo.
For ease of training, we have switched over exclusively to the Rupes Bigfoot system. Great results and a sort of "polish by numbers" system that is easy for newer detailers to grasp.

Yes. We have used these in our shop for years with great success.
I will definitely buy this product again
I combined it with my FLEX DA and a bottle of Maguire's 105 on a 30 year old boat covered in oxidation and got incredible results.

Best cut with least after effects. I bought one to try... 30 pads later, I will definetely buy more!
I've actually bought and tried the majority of pads out there. This is my go to long throw pad. Cuts extremely fast and actually corrects paint.
Down sides: it's very* dusty and has to be blown or brushed out like division of your section passes. You'll definitely need to finish polish.

This is my go-to pad for the tough jobs. I use a variety of compounds for cutting and polishing. I have very little marring if any after use. A wool spur tool is important if you don't have compressed air to blow out the pad.
Tried this for the first time. Wool pad cut great and finished well. It didn't have a lot of build like MF pad does so that a plus. Great option to have.
Great cutting ability, finishes well. Does mat down, clean constantly and you'll be happy with results.
Used to using the mequiars mf cutting pad for most things. Bought some of these just to try and this is my new go to. Finishes down amazing even on soft paint!

This pad is awesome... It stays flat enough while cutting to not leave a lot of haze for you to come back at in your second step. That is due to the short pile of the fibers in it unlike your traditional larger wool pads with longer strands. I find this thing to be killer in edges and smaller areas too, because the ability to get to the edge on this type of wool pad, is better then a standard wool pad size. If your goal is to do some fast cutting, then this is the way to go for sure. Use it on a rotary and you WILL be faster in the cutting stage then you would on a MF cutting pad on DA hands down. Way to go Rupes. Also, keep it clean, it will last a long time. Don't go pressing down super hard either....not needed. IF you do that it will dramatically reduce the life it will have. Blow it out or use a towel to wipe it down, and swap them out every few panels too. Hope this helps guys. Cheers.
This pad is really great! On certain harder finishes you may be able to even use as a one-step. Unlike rotary wool pads, you can use as a two step on softer paints. Much less haze & holograms on soft Honda/Acura paints than with the blue foam pad (even with the Rupes coarse compound), with better durability and correction ability.
Rupes Coarse Wool Pad Product Reviews..
The best of the best when it comes down to an absolute correction.

Amazing. My new go-to pad for cutting. I used to use the LC hybrid wool but this being padded and easier to clean makes this even better. The price may be higher than MF cutting pads but its 100% worth it. Clean your pad often and it will continue to amaze you.
This pad does a excellent job with Meguiar's #100 or #105 for quick cutting. Only used it on a couple of cars so far, but the longevity looks to be okay as well. I like the foam backing that keeps the pad cushioned yet firm, a bonus over my other favorite, the Lake Country blue hybrid wool.
It works good to remove swirl marks even as a one step.
My usual go-to pad for compounding. Does not heat up as much as microfiber, cuts the same or more, and seems to finish with less marring on most paints. Have used it with Jescar Compound, Griot's Fast Correcting Cream, CarPro ClearCut, Koch Chemie H8.02, and Rupes Mille Coarse Compound and it works great with all. Mille, 15MKII, and even rotary. Pricy but the quality is definitely there.
It is helpful to have compressed air, or at minimum a wool spur tool to help keep them blown out during use. Makes them work better and last longer!
