Product Description

Chemical Guys Citrus Wash is an extremely concentrated paintwork cleaning shampoo. The citrus based cleaning agents are extremely gentle and safe to use on your vehicle's entire exterior. Just add one ounce per gallon of water to create a paint safe shampoo formula that can remove the old sealant and wax on your paint. Your washing bucket will quickly fill up with tons of suds that makes washing very safe and easy. Having a paintwork cleaning shampoo like the Citrus Wash around is critical for any detailer who wants to start off their detail with a fresh surface. Trying to use a clay bar and polish over old sealant and wax will reduce the effectiveness of each of those steps. If you want to make sure you get the absolute most out of your sealant or wax wash the surface with the Citrus Wash before any application, so the surface is totally bare. Removing the old sealant and wax allows the new coat of sealant or wax to form a tight bond with the surface and give you longer lasting protection. As most top quality detailers know the real shine comes from your prep work and starting off with the right shampoo is extremely important. Don't risk getting sub par results, get the shampoo you need for a proper detail.

Professional Detailer Reviews

When it comes to choosing a car wash, the options seem almost endless. One of my personal favorites, which I use on every car I work on is Chemical Guys Citrus Wash. For an inexpensive option, this premium shampoo packs quite the punch. Depending on the ratio used while washing, it can be used for simply a maintenance wash when mixed at a ratio of 1-oz. (full cap) per 5 gallons. When mixed at a stronger ratio of 1-oz. per gallon, it will strip wax and other contaminants from the surface leaving a nice clean contaminant free surface.

Got this to use as a strip wash before applying polish, sealants, wax, etc. Last time I used it my car was hammered. July. Oklahoma. The drought is over, we've got rain, and I'm not sure why all these guys in Florida keep going on and on and on about the June bugs, but let me tell you about some bugs! That and the 75 minute after dark commute home 5 days a week. So this last time I decided to throw in an ounce of ONR with the ounce per gallon of CG citrus wash for some added lubricity. I'm not a drinker, but this mixture smelled EXACTLY like a Don Julio, Cointreau, and lime juice margarita! Anyways. After the wash I got really serious with some M105/M205 and kept the wash bucket full of acidic citrus was around to throw my pads in. Worked pretty nicely. Would probably buy it again just to save money on a pad cleaner.

Well, it cleans and foams well but seems to leave spots on my black paint. I use it primarily to remove old protection, mix it with a little CG All Clean works great. I still think that I might purchase again.

Used to wash cars with previous waxes/sealants before correction and/or coating. Still recommend an IPA/Eraser wipedown to get everything but this soap has some good cleaning power.
