The 4" Lake Country Blue Fine Finishing Pad is recommended to be used to apply your favorite sealant or liquid wax. Since you are just looking for thin, even coverage, there is no reason to use a denser pad with more bite. The Blue Finishing Pad is our softest, least aggressive pad. Many professional detailers are also using the Blue Fine Finishing Pads along with a finishing polish, such as Menzerna PO85RD, to burnish or jewel the paint to it's maximum level of depth and gloss.Benefits of Smaller Pads:
On a random orbital buffer, such as the Porter Cable 7424:
- Provides more bite than larger pads, in order to break polishes down further and remove more imperfections
- Ability to maneuver the buffer in tigher areas and closer to edges and trim
- Increased control with the buffer
On a rotary buffer, such as the Metabo PE 12-175:
- Provides less bite than larger pads, which makes using a rotary buffer less risky
- Easier to finish down the paint without rotary holograms, micro-marring, and other imperfections
- Ability to maneuver the buffer in tigher areas and closer to edges and trim
