NanoSkin AutoScrub Sponge Reviews
Professional Detailer Reviews
You open you eyes, you are in an unfamiliar dark room and see a man standing in front of you. His long black cloak and sunglasses add to your confusion. As you eyes adjust you see his arms extended, holding two small blocks, a red one in the right hand and a blue in the left.
"The choice is yours", he says "The blue sponge will be much more gentle, safer and more universal. However, it will not work to remove more embedded concomitants. The red sponge is more aggressive and will remove those with ease, but can be dangerous on soft paint and may require you to polish after. Again the choice is yours."
When it comes to prepping paint for polishing or protection, removing embedded contamination is a must. Over time, your vehicle picks up contaminants that washing alone will not remove (i.e. industrial fallout, road grime, and bonded particles). I recently put the NanoSkin Glide and NanoSkin AutoScrub Sponge (Fine Grade) to the test and I have been thoroughly impressed with the results.

I bought sponge and used it on a 2021 Porsche Turbo S that is garage kept and has 4500 miles on it today.
After using it I cleaned it with soap and water and let it air dry in my house. When it was dry I placed it in a plastic seal bag, in a closet in the ac.
About two weeks later I needed to use it after getting a few bugs on the front of my car. It was almost like a tar substance. To touch the surface of it with my fingers it was very sticky, and putting it on my car, I had a tough time using a clay bar to get it off.
Better yet, contacting nanoskin about the issue, I never got any response to my email.
I have the clay mitt and I have the clay towel and I have stored those the same way and have no issues and they are 5 plus years old.

I use the fine grade blue on exotics or delicate paints for stubborn stains etc while foam on the car. It is fast and easy. 3 times cheaper.
I ended up snagging one of these autoscrub sponges to test out for the fun of it after having great results with the autoscrub foam pad. The sponge does a great job and is easier to work in tighter areas than the larger foam pad. Just like the foam pad, the sponge will save you at tremendous amount of time in comparison to traditional claying. In addition to saving time the autoscrub sponge can be used around 20 times and costs less than traditional clay bars. It is a win win. Unless you enjoy the more involved process of claying, this is a no brainer swap. Highly recommend.
Love this clay mitt sponge! It is so much easier to use than a regular clay bar. I use regular clay bars on stuff that just wont come out. Its rare that i have to use a regular clay bar. This does the job well and if u drop it, u can easily just wash it off and re use it!
Great clay alternative for the price. I've been using these little sponges for years and will continue to do so! They pick up just as much contaminants that clay would, are easy to hold, and the best part is that you can just rinse them off if you accidentally drop it on the ground, unlike clay where it's recommended you throw it out. The sponge design also allows them to be able to reach into tight spaces, like under a door handle. I find there is a quick break in period for the Nanoskin products, but all you have to do is use sufficient lubrication and run them over a window panel for a couple minutes, then they are paint ready. They will last you many uses and are nearly half the price of some clays.
Used this on a car with glide as lube and it was awesome. Highly recommend.
