For vehicles with very heavy scratches and swirl marks there needs to be more serious work done. A heavy cutting polish will remove a micro thin layer of the clear coat that will significantly reduce swirls and scratches. When light passes through heavy swirls and scratches it fragments. This causes the light to reflect in various directions, which creates a dull reflection in the paint. When the clear coat is treated properly with a heavy cutting polish you will smooth out the clear coat from these various imperfections. This allows more light to pass directly through the clear coat, thus creating a magnificent reflection in the paint. Heavy cutting polishes always require a lighter polish(s) after to remove any micro marring and hazing.
